Review: Iconic anthem alert!! The legendary BT unlocks his genre defining classic 'Flaming June' for Black Hole recordings. First realised back in '97 (for many considered the golden era of trance) and without doubt his biggest ever single, it gets an exciting modern day twist from a plethora of fine talent. Heading up the pack is Paul Van Dyk with a typically well polished production fuelled by a heavy acid line and the famous hooked unleashed in the break. With a melody like this, you can't do much wrong with Gareth Wyn and Fred Baker both adding their subtle styles respectively. Completing the package (and our pick of the bunch) is Anjunadeep duo Jaytech & James Grant.

Review: Miami based George Acosta has steadily risen over the past few years to become one of Americas leading trance exports. Alongside his close relationship with Black Hole, he also heads up his own successful label Aco Music. 'Visions Beyond Expressions' is his second artist album, and it's an absolute cracker. 14 tracks winding their way through progressive, house, and uplifting moods with some simply stunning vocal appearances, most notably on 'Break Me Down', 'Falling Deep' and 'The Way She Loves'. Review: There is a massive difference between a release filling remix, and a showstopper of a remix. For the alternate cut to take the shine off the original track, it takes allot.. but one duo who manage to do just that on each and every release is Hungarian pairing Myon & Shane54. The Anjunabeat and Armada regulars head over to Black Hole and bring their stunning 'Summer of Love' flair to Aruna's big vocal moment 'Save The Day'. Review: Silver surfer trance master Solarstone returns to Tiesto' Black Hole label with Island, a new studio album that's right on time following a succession of hash-inspired LPs and last year's One. Maintaining his quality form in tracks like "Take Me On Your Flight (Island version)" with its sweet vocal, slightly left of field keys and techy breakdowns, Solarstone proves once again he's a master of the trace craft. With exotic breakbeats and neo classical feedback making it into "Frontier" (featuring the venerable Super-Frog Saves Tokyo & Ian Urbina), tribal themes and oriental motifs, alongside baerlic licks of guitar in "Summer Fills The Sky" coalesce into a soundtrack of grandeur and grace when its main theme hits. Review: Shockingly this is Brazilian Danilo Ercole's debut on Black Hole, a label that seems so perfect for his unique sound that has garnered the support of everyone from Armin, to Emery over the past couple of years. Featuring a catchy topline from Roberta Harrison, which is the backbone of 'Meet You Where You Are', his blend of progressive and tech are met with a fidgety electro bass-line and soaring evolving lead. Ryan Mendoza leads the charge on the remixes with a housier cut which we feel nails the arrangement and will have the biggest crowd reaction, and has a more dynamic genre range. On the flipside, if you are after something deeper head straight for the Amex mix.

Review: Fast-rising Georgian producer Neura follows collaborations with Roger Shah, and releases on Musical Madness, Armada, and Magic Island with this killer standout EP on Black Hole. 'The Rhythm' is dark and dramatic, with a throbbing bottom end and chugging percussion. If you like your prog with that little bit of attitude then this needs to be in your wallet. Review: Amazingly, it's some 19 years since Robbie Rivera made his debut on R&R Records. Since then, he's released records in a variety of styles on labels including Juicy Records, Subliminal, Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street Music, Toolroom, Spinnin' and, most recently, longstanding trance imprint Black Hole. Here, his big-room focused house track "Starlight" - all dancing melodies and booming bottom-end - gets the remix treatment. Review: Canada born, LA based Syney Blu has been making serious waves over the past few months on both the DJ front and with singles 'Another Late Night' and 'Chemistry'. Merging the genre barriers of trance, house, and electro and fitting in very well with the edm explosion stateside. 'Nightlight' ticks the boxes of all the aforementioned and with the tried & tested talents of Betsie Larkin on lyrics and vocals the whole thing is most definitely lifted up a gear. There is much more depth to the production and musicality then some of her previous, and the trance influences really shine through more so than house. With everyone from Bobina and Ashley Wallbridge to Ian Carey and Fedde Le Grand supporting, it look set to be rocking the clubs for a while.

Review: Well, with this many artists on one sleeve, you kind of know that it's going to be good.. and that is most certainly the case with 'In Motion'. Classic Black Hole sounds, with bags of emotion, uplifting big room melodies and a topline you will have rattling around your head for days on end. The housey old school riff runs (and powers) throughout, with simplistic percussion and a warm rolling bassline. Review: Two of Canada's longest standing EMD figures Mikas and Sage are on somewhat of a roll at the moment, moving up from their own Progressive Grooves label to the dizzy heights of Terminal4 and this on Black Hole. 'Eternal' is a hyped up progger with a relentless techy groove, growling bottom-end and a shattering of razor sharp synth lines that wouldn't sound out of place in a full-fire tech trance set. The energy levels are kept to the maximum right the way through, and of the three mixes its the DJ Sage solo take which grabs us most, delivering a dynamic arrangement and heightened intricacy.

Review: Dutchman Daniel Wanrooy makes a welcome return to Black Hole after a brief hiatus following his 'Slice of Life' album. He's not alone as 'I Feel You' sees him join forces with the equally prolific Virtual Vault for a monstrously big tune with a riff to match, set to cause serious destruction. The pairs original sits somewhere between big room house and tech trance and opens up to sets across all the genres in-between. Where this really triumphs though is the killer Mell Tierra electro thrash-down, a mass of distorted synths, epic drops, and bringing the unique and catchy roughed up female vocal to the forefront (as it well should be). Full fire sounds, get on it!

Review: Many producers in electronic music embrace the cinematic style of production, to create that Hollywood blockbuster epicness. It's tougher to achieve then think up of course, but one act who strike the right balance between surround-sound-drama and club sensibility is Moonbeam. "The Random"is a box-office triumph, packed with 22 tracks (which includes some much needed club mixes). It is wall-to-wall with their regular vocal cohorts. The pooled contributions of atypical singers like Avis Vox, Matvey Emerson, Leusin, Blackwite Feel and Aelyn all add much in the enigmatic and atmospheric departments. "Only You" feat Jacob A is instantly catchy, and other highlights (of the many) include "Madness", "Little Monster", and "You Win Me". Stunning album, which we have had on repeat since first listen.

Review: One of the most constantly on point (and prolific) producers in trance is Canadian Glenn Morrison, and here we are treated to a double header of fresh slammers which have been getting big players over the past weeks from Gareth Emery and Armin. Kicking it off is the acid laden 'Maruqee', with its simplistic snappy and sparse beats giving it a marching base for the energetic and quite frankly mad acid line to let rip above and get up to all sorts of musical mischief. On the flip is the equally big 'Time Warp' this time with his trademark percussion, rhythms, and a more formulaic arrangement.. Its pacey and tech laced progressive that doesn't let up in energy of originality throughout. Two massive tracks, which you need to be on!!

'We Live In The Dark' is as sinister and mood setting as the title suggests, with frantically shuffly percussion which constantly runs away from its self and a building synth line of epic proportions that transcends into a real hands in the air moment for the break.. Review: For many years Robbie Rivera has kept the balance of credible yet accessible on his music, with plenty of crossover anthems alongside outright underground club tracks. 'All We Are' lifted from his latest studio album is the former, largely down to the radio friendly vocal from Blake Lewis. With his infectious electro sound surrounding the instantly hooky topline, your onto a winner, and Black Hole once again deliver on the overall package with some great remixes. For us it's all about Marco V's remix, who takes it into 6th gear, while David Solano and Pedro Del Mar also turn in decent interpretations.

Muzikjunki with Marco Den Held
Review: In the modern age of the music industry, it has become all the more important to get that direct interaction with your fans and supporters of music. A shift which no doubt got Muzikjunki thinking of setting out a remix opportunity for his Marco Den Held collab 'Rush'. The entries came into the Black Hole offices thick and fast, with the deserving winner being Moscow producer B0nus, who here sees a full release on one the trance's biggest labels. It's an impressive production, progressive but with lots of depth and some really interesting layers and fills which raise it above the parapet. On the new package comes more cuts, with our pick being the funky tech workout from Redondo, bringing a party flair and straight up floor friendly appeal. Top stuff!
