Review: As trance makes its mainstream comeback on to the dancefloor its a genre you will hear in as many techno sets these days as you will house, bass and club music the world over. Xpansion, trance super group from the '90s that brought out a stream of singles during the decade return somewhat out of the blue with a finely tuned warehouse club piano number that's big on progression, 909 drums, and fillings of rave and breaks all packed into a three-minute trance epic.
Review: Mysterious new producer The Aweless fronts up for the ever reliable New State Music here with "Aweless". There's not an awful lot to go by at present in regards to his identity or credentials, but if these two tracks prove anything - they've certainly got a lot of potential! Features two absolutely majestic versions: the powerful tech house vibe of the AM version, reminiscent of the Life & Death/Afterlife sound (and best served at the peak time!), or the PM version taking more of a classic trance aesthetic of the early '90s for pure dancefloor euphoria.
Review: Legendary electronic music production and DJ outfit Ben & Paul Harris (aka Dirty Vegas) are back with their first single for 2020. Recent years have seen some huge releases, including the gold certified "Let The Night", to "Save A Prayer" and "Setting Sun". Their new hit "Happening" is a mesmerising chugger on which you'll truly lose yourself on the dancefloor. As always, it's an undeniably pop-inflected affair, but powered by an infectious acid bassline and a gripping vocal performance. Some handy club and dub versions are included also for DJ use. From Grammy awards, topping Billboard Top 100s, to selling over one million albums, the boys are still on top of their game.
