Review: Originally released in 1999, Stanton Warriors' remix of Zac Toms' "Bring Me Down" was one of the West Country duo's earliest outings. Springing and vibing with turn-of-the-century UKG class, the original represents the act's roots with groove and distinction and still sounds amazing to this day. Rebooted 15 years later, it's still as fresh and funky. Highlights across this generous package include the jazzy keys on Odysseus's Dark House remix, the deep, dubby Serious Danger-style chugging vibe of Origin's remix and of course the swaggering chest-press breakbeats of the 2014 mix. Review: Having dropped his latest party bomb, Hate On Me, back in the Summer, Herve (aka Josh Harvey) breathes further life into the tune with some new remix action. Jaded eschew the campy gurrrl-friendly vibes of the original in favour of some prowling, moody bassline house (which also gets re-edited by Herve himself), while Skapes & SFX go for the jugular - delivering some prime retro speed garage with plenty of funky house garnish on top.

Review: Ryuken bursts through our house charts with his fourth release to date, and his first for the devious Cheap Thrills. "Let's Turn It Up" is a nonsense club banger, not pretending to be leftfield, abstract or for headphone purposes...this tune has a big, bad bassline and it's built for you to DANCE to. "Come On Baby" is remixed twice: Jackin Bass takes the wobble of puristic dubstep and places it over a skippy house structure, whereas Back To 99, as the name suggests, deliveres a fine UK garage reinterpretation of the tune with that inimitable percussive swing. Yes please.

Review: Reset!'s piano-splashed retro house bomb was released earlier to great acclaim. Complete with Turbofunk and Summer Of Love remixes we thought it was a done deal. But no, Cheap Thrills had more in mind by giving emerging electro upstart LKiD a helping hand up the bass culture ladder. Respectfully leaving the spine-tingling elements in place (the emotive vocal, the euphoric pianos, the lolloping groove) he's added a rather silly squelchy bassline and naughty stabs into the mix giving it a whole new attitude-ridden edge. Stick it to the system.

Review: Cheap Thrills has always been about keeping things fresh and moving forward, refusing to be pigeon holed, largely down to Herve being behind it of course. As the label continues to evolve we see this great EP from the hotly tipped Housquare (whom won a remix comp for the man himself last year). Two big tracks here full of classic house vibes alongside futuristic sounds, 'Subshine' is an instant feel good crowd pleaser that will fit in a the full spectrum of musical styles. 'Moonlight' is all about the minor chords, still on the old school vibe , but with more of an underground flair.. This is big people!!

Review: Cheap Thrills don Herve returns with "Better Than A BMX", an incendiary slice of club tackle with a memorable vocal and crunchy synth line that will see its momentum carry through well into the summer months. Complementing the original are three versions; a beefed up club vocal mix, a frenzied Sedat the Turkish Avenger remix and utterly mental dubstep tearout-meets-trance anthem version from Afghan Headspin which needs to be heard to be believed!

Review: Bass Friend is suited to the early morning sessions, when things start to go weird. The "Mix For Him" is based on a pared back rhythm and a twisted frequency-shifting bassline, but the killer element is the tripped out vocal sampling that menacingly intones 'I'm your bass friend / I'll do it to you again and again'. After that, none of the other versions are as out there. "Mix for Her" is more slamming and feeds off a searing acid ridd, while the Sneekers version is powered by dense, bleepy riffs. Only the Elektropusher version, with its distorted synths and noisy, glitch rhythms comes close to emulating the "Mix for Him" remix.

Review: Hamburg electro duo Moonbootica get busy on Herve's Cheap Thrills label with this new maximal beast, "Iconic". A heavy late-night worker in the vein of Sebastian or Digitalism, it's a glistening mix of hi-end chords and driving crunch-bass, that benefits from a vocodered rerub from TAI, and a boogie-focused, Braxe-shaped disco overhaul from the excellent Lorenz Rhode.

Review: Cheap Thrills are all about scouting the hot, new talent out there in the house-bass world, and they've done it again with Closer. Although the outfit had already released on Record Union before being picked up by Cheap Thrills, it looks like they'll be forming a long-lasting bond. "Xymbol01" is a true hybrid tune, incorporating elements of trip-hop, house, breaks and even a little bit of jazz thanks to its deep and funky bassline. Let's not forget those seductive vocals running all over the place, either, it's a tune for the dancers and one that will go down a storm on a system!
