Review: Andy Compton may well be best known for delivering sumptuous, soul-flecked deep house, but his sizeable discography features numerous forays into other styles (modern soul, disco and boogie included). Here the happy-go-lucky Devonian dusts off his old TB-303 bass synth and lays down a trio of on-point acid house jams. The Bristol-based producer begins with the rock solid drum machine programming, wonky spoken word samples and subtle acid undulations of "That Acid Track", before teaming up with honey-throated soul singer Rogiers on the Fingers Inc. style workout that is "Acid Rain". Closer "Sacred Time", meanwhile, sits somewhere between the other two tracks; while Compton makes great use of some luscious chords, the beats and TB-303 lines are pleasingly tough and forthright
