Dark Valley - (6:39)
124 BPM Review: It's hard to believe that Blade & Beard come from Iran - a country not known for producing electronic acts. Despite this, the pair's latest three-tracker shows that they have a nuanced approach to making underground music. "Frozen Echo" is a throbbing, pumping groove that features doubled up claps and the kind of haunting vocal sample as Future Sound of London's classic "Papua New Guinea". Meanwhile on "The Void", they steer the sound towards bugged out acid. The title track is the most menacing arrangement, with an epic, dark synth underpinned by a throbbing, pulsating bass. Dark Valley is proof of the age-old maxim that it doesn't matter where you're from, but where you're at.
