Review: Most people will remember Superstition as being primarily concerned with trance. However, it should not be forgotten that it also championed experimental music during the 90s, as this reissue demonstrates. Cracked aka Axel Grzybowsky and Roger Cobernuss, skirted around the edges of trance, adding a uniquely off beat approach. This is evident through this compilation; from the acid-tinged broken beats of "Lechre" to the teased out, proto-minimal house of "Sexed" and the slow grinding "Lucky Girl", many of these tracks still have the ability to surprise. Add in some of the remixes from the original releases, including one from Damon Wild - who turns "Sexed" into a frenetic shuffling affair - and Joey Beltram's visceral, splurging take on "Strobot" and you've got an essential 90s release.
