Review: Introducing some fresh, softly spoken and beat down sounds from new entity Kyyhky and the Made It To Friday label. Someone Will Love You Tonight sees a string of instrumental vignettes weaved together through a collage of summery, baerlic guitars and dusty MPC beats that pay homage to sweet, warm and melancholic hip hop blues. As if inspired by Flying Lotus' "Tea Leaf Dreaming", Someone Will Love You Tonight comes across the listener like a autumnal dream turned blue and blurry, with hazy highlights in the manga theme music of "80S Anime Gif", inspired piano melodies of "Final Quest" and the woozy waltz of "Nightwalking". Find more stringed and acoustic numbers in "Drawn In Snow", "Looking At The Night Sky Gives Me Hope" and "Sunset Type Beat". Kyyhky have arrived.
Review: Low Down Deep have really outdone themselves with this one and it's courtesy of Filthy Habits, who, across four tunes, seriously rolls things out. The standout tune is 'Caught Sippin', which moves from a choppy array of jump up stabs into a winding, twisting bass node with a devilish bend within, a powerful dancefloor track that you won't forget any time soon. The title track smacks of old school Low Down Deep material with its shameless approach to funky rhythms and bouncy beat making, a catchy affair that doesn't take itself too seriously. The others are equally stripped back, and we really love the barebones approach being taken here.
Review: Give it up, give it in, let us begin... Ego Trippin return to Low Down Deep with two massive tracks that have been on dub for them, Logan D and a few other lucky DJs of late. Both laced with classic Ego Trippin' signature hookiness, warm bass and stripped back fun, "Give It Up" is a rattling hip-slinker with classic harmonics and reverse effects on the bass while "To Be With You" pushes the blend in more of a leftfield direction with a full vocal drop on the breakdown that we guarantee will have your dancefloor melting. Serious heaters.
