The Dawn Society (Tchicaya remix) - (4:08) 142 BPM
Review: The devil walks among us. Right now he's in Tokyo, Kwaioto HQ... And he's rattling out sounds so powerful you're already beginning to feel hexed just reading these very words. "Apostate" hits with string-cut drama and percussion that thumps the tubs so hard you'd sell your soul for a sniff of them while "The Dawn Society" plunges us even deeper into the bowels of hades with its spooky textures, weird reverse effects and foreboding bass sizzles. With added remix pressure from label founder Cam Lasky and bit crushing distortion munching newcomer Tchicaya, the devilish operations run deep. Don't get vexed, get hexed.
Review: Italy's DJ Rocca has been at it for over a decade now, previously releasing on the likes of Gomma and Slow Motion and turns in some classic first wave Chicago house sounds for Manchester's El Diablos Social Club. "Lets Go Party" is a jacking, early evening groove with soaring synths, cowbells and church organ stabs; all the good stuff basically. The Brioski remix is pretty wicked, working those cowbells a lot more and injecting a kick ass arpeggio into it. "Slumber" is a smooth, downbeat chiller with some trippy and immersive synth leads flying about the place, quite cosmic actually. The remix of it by label boss Neil Diablo is quite impressive, giving it a lovely Balearic touch that transcends the astral plane.
