Review: Let There Be House & In It Together Records are proud to announce their huge label collaboration, in the form of this massive 60 track compilation containing 30 album only exclusives. 'The Anthology 2020' is a result of both labels having huge success over the past 12 months, with highlights coming from: Born2Groove with the low slung disco goodness of "Happiness", legend Sandy Rivera (with Aruhtra) on the bittersweet and soulful anthem "Love Somebody Else", the return of '90s funky house's glory days on "Piano Groove" by Makree (Sebb Junior Remix) and label chief In It Together's electrifying "Hey Mr DJ" (with Alimish). This essential album comes complete with four continuous bonus mixes by the boss men: two by Glen Horsborough (LTBH) and another couple by Jas P (IITR).
Review: Hands down the biggest compilation of trance music to hit 2021 so far is this epic rundown by Armada. Literally 100-tracks large, the compilation delivers extended versions of tracks by much loved trance royalty in Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond to intriguing collaborations between Paul van Dyke & Sue McLaren, Ferry Corsten & Trance Wax (tip!) or Tinlicker & Robert Miles (classic!). Dig deeper still and you'll find diamonds from Chicane, Elysian, Maarten De Jong and the undeniable Ilan Bluestone. Buy one, by them all!
Review: For the latest volume in Quantize Recordings' Quintessential Sessions mix series, DJ Spen has handed over the reins to London scene stalwart Booker T. His mix is naturally hugely entertaining and expertly crafted, but the real boon is the wealth of unmixed tracks. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, from the sprightly piano house soulfulness of Booker T's own rework of 'L.O.V.E' by Beloved and Sheree Hicks, the vibraphone-laden warmth of Sean McCabe's revision of Spencer Morales' M.F.S.B-sampling 'Without Your Love' and the organ-sporting bounce of Manoo's take on Dave Anthony's luscious 'She Don't Know', to the booming big room muscularity of KlavaKeys' 'Power Drive', and the bumpin' late night fizz of Spen & Thommy's re-edit of 'Let It All Go' by Pat Bedeau.
