Review: Danced Til Midnight man DJ Andy Anderson loves bending styles at will, with previous releases variously blending elements of funk, soul, disco, hip-hop, house and Afrobeat. This no-holds-barred, all-that-counts-is-the-dancefloor approach is continued on "She Can't Love You", which laces Ijeoma's soulful, R&B style vocal over a backing track that variously doffs a cap to fuzzy funk, boogie, breakbeat and disco-house. Similar could be said about the more breakbeat-minded "Maxx E", which feels like a reworked instrumental dub of the title track. Speaking of reworks, the EPs's highlight is arguably Egyptian Lover's punchy electro remake of "She Can't Love You".
Review: The blossoming Super Weird Substance Limited imprint - yes, quite a mouthful and exactly why you'll remember it in the future - brings forth new artist Sweet Tooth T to their catalogue with "She Can't Love You / "Feel The Same", the club version of which is boogied-out to perfection. There's also a radio mix of the same track, all spruced up and vocalised, followed by "She Can't Love You / C'mon Sway" which features Kermit Leveridge on the vocal rap - a bouncy r&b kinda jam for ten club.
