Review: Step out, bounce out, 'Walkout'... No matter how you approach this EP, it's massive from every perspective. Two masters, new-gen and OG, Exile and Mark XTC get busy over three cuts and invite some equally esteemed mic men in the process. 'Walkout' is an instant Flinty and Deman sing-along with full vibes from the dark funk rolling groove. 'Stay Out The Way' gets even springier with its tightly coiled groove and sporadic spits from Deefa while 'Vibe Feeling' completes this trio of treats on an emotional, left-of-centre trip that's just the right balance of melancholy and muscle. Sort it out.

Review: Preaching to the junglist children who've turned to the darker side, "Bass Or Die" is Invisible Landscape's nod towards rapidfire jump up MCs and pared-back minimal breaks. Minimal jungle seems like a far-fetched idea. Given the weight of those subs, he's not going in half hearted though; the result is a mish-mash of sounds focused on that severe bassline. The Ragga Twins join him again in "Brock Wild", which takes on the form of good old fashioned D&B based on some serious old school breaks. Invisible Landscape is nothing if not experimental. When we say he's diverse, we mean he's straight-up crazy. One to watch.

Review: The interestingly named Youthful Implants make their debut here on Ghetto Funk. It's a perfect match as the label's mantra is "we bring the boom" and with "Hold That Gyal" there's a lot of boom indeed. The original sees wobbly bass wrestle with a loose breakbeat while the Ragga Twins spit out some pretty anthemic lyrics. Elsewhere Skulleee drops some serious post dubstep robot rhythms and Tom Showtime & DJ Maars change tack, delivering a Summery Ska joint that even throws in a bit of House Of Pain for maximum party effect.
