Top Rank Skank/Know Fi Move Your Waist
Top Rank Skank (feat Mr Williamz) - (4:17) 175 BPM Hot
Know Fi Move Your Waist - (3:45) 178 BPM
Review: Expect the usual raga-jungle fusion business from the infamous Mr Benny Page on this superb single release on High Culture replete with infectious, sing along vocal hooks, pumping dancefloor drums and shimmying melodies. "Top Rank Skank (feat. Mr Williamz)" heads up the release with an uplifting, feel-good vibe, enticing vocals from Mr Williamz which bring the spirit of Jamaica into the heart of the music, along with gentle pattering drums which drive the tune along for the duration. Accompanying cut "Know Fi Move Your Waist" is another killer with catchy vocal loops, percussive breaks and a soulful edge that means you just have to dance to it.

Review: Benny Page seems to be on a bit of a roll at the moment. Here he teams up with old partner in crime Zero G, Solo Banton, Topcat, Mr Williamz and Ms Bratt across the first volume of the "High Culture Compilation". Lo and behold, there are 21st century jungle vibes in abundance with an upbeat and infectious vibe, as well as some dubstep and much more. Kicking off with Benny Page & Solo Banton's "Dangerous" its all pattering beats, sing-a-long ragga jungle lyrics and dancefloor directed energy. Elsewhere check out the aggressive swagger of "Sound Fi Dead (feat. Topcat)" as well as "Body Pumpin" and the wicked Zero G remix of "Tear Down" which concludes the album.

Review: Cor blimey, Jungle Cakes aren't messing around with their Welcome To The Jungle series are they? Hot on the heels of Ray Keith comes another stone cold OG; Nicky Blackmarket. Digging deep across the classics and sparking up a whole forest of fresh fires, it's a 40 track, 2 mix, 10 FX tool trove of pure jungle magic curated with the wide-armed style you'd expect from an originator. With classic ranging from well known such as "Incredible" and "Pulp Fiction" to cult such as "Keep It Raw" and "Gangsters" and upfront jams flexing from all the right names (Serum, Aries, Serial Killaz, Drumsound & Bassline Smith), Blackmarket has absolutely smashed this out of the mark.

Review: Selector! Jungle Cakes' Welcome To The Jungle series welcomes a bonafide legend to the controls: Ray Keith. Digging deep across the board he's put together over 40 killer tracks from an obscene rollcall: Serum, Vital, Dillinja, Bladerunner, Margaman, T>I, DJ Hybrid, Turno, Filthy Habits, Ed Solo, Deekline and many many more artists are responsible for the savage soul and badman bounce on offer as we're rattled and shaken from pillar to post. From the naughty ragga skanks and turbo reverse bass lashes of Deekline & Ed Solo's "Hot This Year" to Ray's very own seminal "Chopper" via Bladerunner's evergreen breezer "Jungle Jungle" via two mixes and 10 FX tools, this is one of Jungle Cakes' tastiest ever projects to date. Big up the Dark Soldier

Review: Oh gosh... Jungle Cakes look back over their delicious back catalogue, and the wider jungle vista, to bring together 74 of the finest recipes known to mankind for this Gold level baking session. Featuring some of the biggest dishes in existence, one minute we're skanking out to Klue's insane 'Rudy, A Message To You', the next we're getting slapped by Spyda on Serum's 'All Ganja Man' then the next we're being tickled by seminal classics such as M-Beat & General Levy's 'Incredible'. The list of incendiary cuts goes on and on and on... Bossmen Ed Solo & Deekline's 'No No No', Potential Bad Boy's 'Over My Head', Dope Ammo & Taiwan MC's 'Babylon Falling' - every single cut is as hot as your oven on baking day. What a package... And there's a mix thrown in for good measure. Gold... Always believe in your soul.

Review: Massiveness... Jungle Cakes' Welcome To The Jungle collection continues with one of the hardest working and consistent beatsmiths in the game - DJ Hybrid. Following massive selections from the likes of Benny Page, Dub Pistols and Born On Road (to name but a few) the Deep In The Jungle/Audio Addict bossman picks up where he and Dope Ammo left us in 2020 with his last Welcome To The Jungle appearance. This time he's boosted things even more with a staggering 62 tracks that covers the entire spectrum from an almighty rollcall of talents ranging from Voltage and Nicky Blackmarket to Napes to Serum, Jam Thieves, Conrad Subs, Bladerunner and so many more. This an absolutely incredible collection and selection from Hybrid and the Jungle Cakes crew. Essential.

Review: Wake up and bake up, Jungle Cakes are back in the kitchen with their prize dish range 'Welcome To The Jungle'. This time the guest chefs are none other than Dub Pistols who've been flexing all styles and sizes of breakbeat since the very beginning. Currently coming correct with 50 tracks, they cover the full range of D&B through their dubwise, reggae-roasted selection. From the steam engine skank-ups like Isaac Maya and Daddy Freddy's thundering 'Bring Dem' to Deekline & Ed Solo's instant sing-along smash-out 'Bam Bam' to the dancehall bashment of Selecta J Man's 'My Style', this isn't so much of a jungle welcoming but more of a full jungle takeover... And you'll never want to leave.
