Review: We're of the opinion that Paxton Fettel's meandering, jazz-funk fuelled "Nothing Stays The Same" album was one of the most slept-on releases of 2017. Hopefully the same fate won't befall the "Better Days EP", because it's another peach of a release. The producer begins in breezy fashion via the jaunty slap bass, colourful synth solos, rich Rhodes chords and jazzy house beats of "Burning", before charging off towards peak-time deep house territory on the undeniably dreamy and delicious "This Love (Get Over It)", which also includes some sublime Clavinet style riffs and orange-hued synth-work. Elsewhere, "Faster On Fire" is a chunky P-funk style instrumental propelled forwards by a killer synth-bass line, "Better Days" is a summer-ready jazz-house bubbler and "Flavias Silver Silhouette" is deep, jazzy, dreamy and really rather wonderful.
