Review: It's been nearly a decade since the last material dropped from Can7, AKA Cologne-based producer Levent Canseven. This return - for old label Peppermint Jam - is a curious but rather good concoction; a chunky, floor-friendly house rendition of a famous Turkish poem with vocals from Eartha Kitt and traditional instrumentation aplenty. The short and punchy original is accompanied by a trio of club friendly remixes, with Unami, Hans Nieswandt and Levthand (that'll be Canseven again) stepping up to the plate. It's Nieswandt who most impresses, layering Turkish instrumentation and snatches of Kitt's vocal over a rubbery synth bassline, bouncy tech-house drums and booming percussion hits.
