Loaded with a great range of classics, exclusives and left-of-centre vibes, highlights across this massive collection include Aries and Euphonique's massive 'Amen', Dazee & Jinx's 'Shake It Up', Sweetpea and Chickaboo's 'The Jump Off' and the recent skat-dancing fire-up 'Skip De Du Dat'. Review: Ten years ago, Eskimo Recordings emerged from Ghent, as an outlet for mix albums from hometown heroes the Glimmers. Since then, the label has gone on to be a leading light on the nu-disco and nu Balearic scenes. Fittingly, this expansive tenth anniversary set was put together by the Glimmers, and features two solo DJ mixes featuring label highlights aplenty. For DJs, the real bonus is the huge selection of unmixed tracks on display, which adeptly showcases the depth and variety of the label's output. Highlights are plentiful, from the woozy Scandolearic vibes of Lindstrom & Prins Thomas and brilliance of early Aeroplane, to the sun-bright dream pop of Hiem, and the bouncing dancefloor groovery of LHAS Inc.

Review: As one of Bristol's brightest dubwise sparks, it's always exciting to see Drone return to action, this time around unloading a full length album project, courtesy of the legendary 1985 imprint. In short, it's a masterful display of sonic development, from the slower, more grungy introductory squelches of 'Cyclone' through to the face-melting synth swipes of 'Burnt Lungs' and grime drum-skips of 'The Swamp'. From start to finish, this project showcases Drone's innate ability to to deliver high energy originals, both solo and in collaboration with the likes of Alix Perez, Deft, Snowy, Emz & Nah Eerto. Our highlights have to include the juke-driven carnage of 'Jugtown' alongside Hyroglifics, which packs an energetic slap, next to the euphoric embrace of 'Always' which sees Notion join the party for a lively link up. Overall, pure awesomeness!

As always, the selection digs deep across the board to include classics, absolute bangers that have been criminally forgotten and no less than 10 exclusives made strictly for this album. From the sun-kissed soul and key-tickling evangelist jam "Salvation" to the absolute rave carnage of "What's Going Down", the boys have gone in on this collection maintaining its still spotless reputation as one of the most consistent and prolific mix series available in the genre. Pay close attention to the Jukebox Jungle track, too. This needs your loving.

Review: As far as labels go, there aren't many who have been floating around the bass music scene for as long as Future Follower Records. It seems that they have a point to prove here as they unveil an absolute goliath of a project, featuring fifty stunning original creations, packing a perfectly processed punch to round out 2019. The project as a whole finds itself landing between bass, breaks and garage, with some incredibly catchy productions involved, including Dephex's warbling 'Warfare', the super metallic shuffles inside the Bean VIP mix of 9TRANE's 'Heard Me' and the bass blasts of DubReaper's 'Ask Me'. There is something for everyone on this massive selection, giving the Future Follower camp a perfect send off to 2019.

Review: Given the recent upsurge in interest in the back catalogue of seminal Chicago label Dance Mania - particularly the ghetto booty side of their output - it seems fitting that Strut have finally given the label the retrospective treatment it so richly deserves. The whole story is here, from the early jack tracks of Hercules, The Housemaster Boyz and Victor Romero, to the stomping rhythms of DJ Funk, Dj Deeon and Robert Armani (whose ghetto-meets-acid jam "Ambulance" is a riotous highlight). Along the way, there are classics aplenty, alongside lesser-known gems from the vaults (see Parris Mitchell Project's ace "Ghetto Shout Out (feat Wax Master)" and Paul Johnson's thrilling "Feel My MF Bass"). Whether you're a Chicago house connoisseur or not, this should be essential listening.
