Review: Thanks to three previous 12" and digital samplers, most of you will have a fair idea what to expect from this debut full-length from Scottish house-disco fusionists Graeme Clark and Craig Smith. It's still very much worth listening to the album in its entirety, though. Clearly designed as a proper album to be listened to in sequence, it's beautifully programmed and packs a whole skipload of great ideas (not to mention brilliant samples) into a thoroughly entertaining 90-miniute journey. While it only occasionally strays from house - check the downtempo delight "Settle" - there's plenty of variety within that, touching on classic NYC deepness, loopy disco/house heaviness, sensual slo-mo grooves and string-laden tech-house builders.

Review: When it comes to blending classic disco and bumpin' peak-time house, few can match Joey Negro - a man who has been offering up disco-fied house jams since the early '90s. There are naturally plenty of his own tracks and remixes on "Put Some Disco In The House", an expansive collection of quality disco-house moments, with highlights including the rolling disco-boogie heat of "Put The Music On It (Original Disco Mix)", the chunky, walking bass-propelled "Dancing Into The Stars" (with Horse Meat Disco and Angela Johnson) and a slamming rework of Sessomato's jazz-funk flavoured "Moody". Review: As one of Bristol's brightest dubwise sparks, it's always exciting to see Drone return to action, this time around unloading a full length album project, courtesy of the legendary 1985 imprint. In short, it's a masterful display of sonic development, from the slower, more grungy introductory squelches of 'Cyclone' through to the face-melting synth swipes of 'Burnt Lungs' and grime drum-skips of 'The Swamp'. From start to finish, this project showcases Drone's innate ability to to deliver high energy originals, both solo and in collaboration with the likes of Alix Perez, Deft, Snowy, Emz & Nah Eerto. Our highlights have to include the juke-driven carnage of 'Jugtown' alongside Hyroglifics, which packs an energetic slap, next to the euphoric embrace of 'Always' which sees Notion join the party for a lively link up. Overall, pure awesomeness!
