Review: A much trusted beat slinger and MC Funky DL brings the funk, hip hop and instrumental beats back to Washington Classics with a new album, Twenty. Flowing between old school hip hop vibes and dreamy R&B in "Think Twice" there's slowed down broken beat numbers in "Truth Be Told" next to the guitar, cool jazz and soul hits of "So Refresh'd" feat Stee Moglie (who features in many others!) Original number "I Wasn't Born In The Summer..." finds an original Funky DL flex with more vocalists like Cicero and Abioseh featuring in tracks like "Pieces Of A Thesis" and "Free". A record that brings beats, rhythm and rhyme to a space that lands somewhere between Wu-Tang, J5 and legendary UK troupe Phi Life Cypher.
