Still with that classic, lo-fi, harsh and warm Actress sound, Darren Cunningham's aesthetic remains equally ungraspable at the same time. As if some kind of subversive throw back to his legendary Splazsh album, minimal piano tropes punctuate the album to visceral effect. Venturing to looped, computer funk styles in in tracks like "Its me ( g 8 )" too, there's something undeniably sincere to all 13 numbers on offer here. Taking in house beats, experimental hip hop instrumentals and avant garde classical - this album's a keeper.
