Review: If you're after some sensationally summery, beach-ready, "soulful deep and dope" club cuts, this expansive collection from Reel People's self-titled label has you covered. There's naturally a couple of their own productions and remixes present - see the breezy, Afro-house inspired sunshine soul of their set-opening rework of Brettina hook-up 'Spell'- but most of the tracks come from friends and likeminded souls. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, from the jazz-funk inspired Restless Soul remix of Nathan Haines by the late, great Phil Asher, and the organic house masterpiece that is Shannon Chambers' 1Sound remix of her Emmaculate collaboration 'Voodoo', to the jazzy U.S garage shuffle of Dirtytwo and Crackazat's 'Micke Petterson' and the smooth and classy brilliance of Atjazz's 2022 rework of his hook-up with Halo and Maiya, 'Glory'.
