Review: Los Charly's Orchestra are a loose collective of London-based musicians centred around Venezuelan producers Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel who've worked alongside Omar, Dave Lee, Opolopo and Jose Padilla, among others. 'Feeling High' first appeared on the EP 'The Groove & Its Synonyms' in 2011, was remixed by Pete Herbert that same year, and has now been given another going over by the two bandleaders themselves, with its sophisticated jazz-funkisms now underpinned by a much heftier 4/4 but with that same gloriously funky b-line still in full effect. If you like it souful and jazzy but still with plenty of energy, this is a must for the summer.
