Review: Sci-fi inflected minimal house on "Garaldo" from Ibiza based Brits Negghead and Lex Wolf aka Acid Mondays. Rolling bass, dark pads, druggy bleeps and whirs and all those mysterious film samples zipping about the place make this a track with proper afterhours impact. Berlin dwelling Greek John Dimas gives the track a lovely deep house makeover reminiscent of classic Fresh 'N Low sounding grooves. Finally "Machette" goes all peak time minimal/tech house for us with all the right stuff such as another wicked rolling bass, more druggy vocal samples and properly jacking groove in its rhythm.

Review: Not the most positive affirmation you want to hear from a young artist but let's not let the winter blues get the best of us; the good news is that this EP rocks! Mexican producer Edgardo Alonso Garcia aka Sakro gives us four tracks of surefire slinky tech house for the peak time. The original mix of "Everybody Dies Young" is deepest darkest minimal house for invitation only afterhours parties; one for the freaks! The LYE remix of it is more uplifting and adrenalised with a shuffling groove and rolling bass that fans of Gruuv or Saved will appreciate. More original tracks appear in the form of "Genesis" a tough and rolling house jam full of garage style swing and "Mood Swinger" which follows in suit going for the more NYC style of groove on this thumping deep house jam reminiscent of Mr. V or Karizma.

Review: The label named after the smoky Edith Piaf standard has released material by veteran Jerome Pacman as well as John Dimas and Boris Horel, but its latest outing sees owner Terence: Terry at the controls. This three-tracker combines the weird, bugged out vibes of classic late 90 tech-house with the production sheen of modern-day digital production. This approach comes to the fore on "Zipolite", where half-heard vocals are underpinned by shuffling drums and a linear, sinewy groove. On "Nugati", the same out-there aesthetic applies, with chopped-up vocal snippets and dreamy synths fused with an insistent rhythm and rolling drums. Last but not least is the title track, where the French DJ mines wigged out drums and tonal shifts to deliver a truly tripped out experience.

Review: Strong moves from hip French label La Vie En Rose here, bringing the biggest guns of their roster together on a mini comp called Le Soleil Et La Mer. The selection of tough-yet-delicate productions featured begins with two cuts from Berliner Low-e. He presents both the hypnotic and woozy tech-house of "Nebel" and the stark loops and minimal-jack vibes of "Baros". Elsewhere Setes' Thomas Andrew delivers tougher tribal energy on "Joe" and Italian duo Jonny N' Travis turn in a sultry, afterhours style, deep jam, "Mml". A perfect soundtrack to sunny clubbing by the sea.
