Review: Sound Exhibitions regular Afro Dub returns with the cheekily-monikered (because Pts 1-20 are entirely imaginary) 'Funk & Afro Pt 21', a very fine collection of five sketch-length, all-instrumental numbers that lean heavily towards the 'funk' rather than the 'Afro' side of the titular equation. The cinematic, sax-led 'Big Street' kicks things off and sets the tone for the rest, with all five cuts sounding like they've been lifted from some long-lost mid-70s Blaxploitation soundtrack. Given the tracks' brevity - two clock in at under three minutes - and the absence of any vocals to latch onto, picking faves is hard, but the EP as a whole will provide some very solid ammo for those funk sets.
