Review: What more can we possibly say about nu-disco producer Valique and his two-year bootleg/edit/mash-up blitzkreig that we haven't already said? Listening back over these 31 offerings it becomes apparent that this is simply the soundtrack to one seriously mighty party. There are simply just so many dancing-on-tables moments here (we'll let him away with some of the shockers) including the grooved up DM cover "Personal Jesus" by Johnny Cash, the surreal, intoxicating deep disco take on Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" and the dreamy paradise melodies of "Still You". Review: As Eli Escobar let's it be known in "The Formula" that he's 'got something for you' as the sweet chorale chimes. There's a subtle Osunlade vibe to this album, the American's first, and Rhodes be flaying on "Visions" as they vamp to a climax like a Bootsy Collins solo. It's all stripped back business of "NY So Hi" - get down to this! And for some quality, sustained loops check out "Thank You Les". "Up All Night" is a dubbed-out, cool-as, disco-tinged burner and there's a whole load to discover here in a debut album rich with the type of soul you can only get from the streets of the big apple.

Horse Meat Disco, the long running Sunday night of cowbell carnage in deep South London, return to the Strut imprint with a superlative follow up to last years critically acclaimed compilation and DJ mix.
Since then, residents James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Severino and Filthy Luka have continued to lead the way with their packed residencies throughout Europe and appearances at festivals across the globe. Horse Meat Disco Volume 2 sees the quintent drop another selection of late 70s and early 80s obscure italo, Loft club classics and lesser known boogie peculiarities presented here in digital format as separate tracks for the discerning digital disco DJs. Lenore O'Malley's 1980 track 'First To Be A Woman' is every bit as much a disco divva classic as 'I Will Survive' (Gloria Gaynor later covered this O'Malley track) Further sultry diva action comes from Madleen Kane's 'Cherchez Pas' a real dancefloor burner with the Swedish model turned singer teaching Alison Goldfrapp how to ride horn stabs, handclaps and octave bass lines with aplomb. Review: In:Flux Audio open their first Get Fluxed compilation with the ludicrous bounce of Swedger's "Shellsuit Temptress", and it gets even sillier with the tinges of electro-swing in 1Point5's "Villian". There are more streamlined, deeper passages though, like Pavv's remix of "Hold Up" (neat vocal samples to boot) to Prude Lerude's "I Need Your Love". For beats more stripped and torn check Ramage's "Happy Days" and the Samphet's "Badman", but the best old school UKG flavours come through on Gammy and Mr LA productions. UK garage never sounded so 2015.

Review: Fokuz Recordings consistently release some of the best compilation albums around. Their pool of artists is so diverse and so top quality that an assortment of their work is always going to be special, especially when they bring in outside talent like Break and Zero T. Collaborations 2 is what is says on the tin: remixes and other collaborative projects and blimey, it's good stuff. Joakuim's '8am Roller' is the perfect example, a deft piece of piano-based smoothness that rolls out to your heart's content with sultry results, an instant classic of liquid-sized proportions. The Break remix is a welcome addition, as is the steppy yet soulful Zero T remix of Ben Carlos. Another very, very good selection of cuts from the always sublime Fokuz crew.
