Firstly, the mix is super tight and really creative. Secondly, Sub-liminal have such a sick discography that's all pure timeless dancefloor D&B murkage, you're guaranteed to get your hands some fantastic tear-ups here. Review: Basement Phil's Basement imprints proudly drop their first release in the form of a remix compilation - a rather unexpected format but nonetheless enticing! This is a 26-track monster release by Phillip Wells aka Basement Phil who put out some of the most forward-thinking hardcore and jungle back in the early 90's when all of this fuss began! As the title implies, the compilation is a retrospective of sorts, where tracks from the golden era of UK rave are reworked and rebooted, placed next to contemporary sounds form the hardcore continuum. If you're a love rof the jungle variety then this is definitely worth a listen - essential!

Review: We're only in August, but on the Orbit compilation, Tronic takes stock of the biggest tracks of the year so far. There's label owner Christian Smith's "The Future Is Ours", an infectious techno roller that unfolds to the sound of pulsating bass and a celebratory vocal sample, while on a deeper tip, Anna Reusch delivers the hypnotic tech-house of "Loose Your Mind". While the compilation features clubby contributions from label regulars like Drunken Kong, there are also some surprises where Tronic ventures into previously uncharted territories, such as Ian O'Donovan's symphonic "Rath Of The Synods" and Hannes Bieger's tripped out remix of Biz' "Psychotropic".
