Review: All those who love disco should already be familiar with Double Exposure's "My Love Is Free", a Philadelphia International style gem that was one of the earliest releases on Salsoul. Here the timeless dancefloor gem is given a new makeover by multi-track remix king the Reflex. His version is of course superb, with the French producer building up the groove before dropping in echo-laden snippets of vocal and cut-glass strings midway through. He cannily works this for a little while before finally teasing in the familiar chorus two thirds of the way through. It's a clever and effective rework in part because it strips out a lot of the occasionally overbearing orchestration in favour of the killer groove that was previously buried a little in Tom Moulton's mix.
