Review: Leigh Morgan of Fancy Human is back and proclaims the doubt on everyone's mind at the moment on "There's No Meat On Your Love", a deep, slinky and emotive number with femme vox murmurs, soulful elements and lovably wonky synths. "I've Got Strength In My Hands" stays on the deep house tip with some bittersweet vibes; those Detroit-ish chords work wonderfully. The hi-tech soul leanings continue on "Patting With A Purpose" with its massive pad progressions which build and build during the track. which we thought was a highlight!

Review: The second part of Margaman's broadsword, full-spectrum EP doublet on Ray Keith's still-vital Dread, here we're treated to the darker side of his true inner spirit as we batter our way through the shadows; the murky grimey halftime rolls of "Clip Off Your Wings", the Digital-style wall of sound "I Got A Question For Ya", the dancehall jungle groaner "Pis Pon Dem", the soaring roller "Finesse", the classic rave synths and Full Cycle-flavoured drum slap and tickle and the ludicrously low and rumbling "So Heavy"... Each track reminding us why he's become a go-to producer for some of the most important foundation DJs of the genre. Timeless heaviness.

Review: A2C return with a second helping of gnarly, swinging garage beats on the wonderful Pandora's Box imprint. As per usual, it's a fine blend of house, breaks and a dab of boogie to give the tunes that extra funk. Our favourites this time around have to be "Loop Man" and "The Grove" - it's like being back in the late '90s. Do check this if you're nostalgic and need some proper garage soul into your life...

Review: A second 'Solid Gold Edits' collection here from Funk Hunk, and the Denver, Colorado native has done a great job of avoiding any obvious sources: 'She's Got To Be' bites Jerry Knight's 1982 jazz-funk/boogie gem 'She's Got To Be (A Dancer)' but that's about as much as we can tell you! Across the album's eight tracks, boogie and white-socked 80s soul have clearly provided the most obvious inspiration, but there's room, too, for excursions into rawer funk territory on cuts like 'Plastic Saddle' and 'Jungle Music'. 'I Choose You', with its phat 80s bassline and Janet Jackson-like vocal, is particularly worthy of your attention.
