Review: Back in 2009, Hot Chip's Joe Goddard and Raf Rundell came up with the idea of becoming a house-influenced duo called The Two Bears. All these years and two albums later its fairly safe to say that it was a good idea. Another good idea of theirs was to have their recent album, The Night Is Young, reworked by a host of hot producers. Highlights across the 12 impressive cuts here include the percussively apocalyptic Fluida remix of "See You", the malfunctioning electro-house of "Unbuild It (Naum Gabo mix)" and Patrick Baumel's trance-goth epic rework of the title track.

Review: It's been nigh on 30 years since Jon Marsh and co released their second album 'Happiness', which spawned the massive singles 'Hello' and 'The Sun Rising'. A collection of remixes called 'Blissed Out' followed eight months later, but that set has never had a digital release... until now, that is! As it probably inevitable with a collection of mixes that were tailored to the club tastes of 1990, one or two of the cuts haven't aged that well but there's still plenty to enjoy here, including two less-overplayed takes on 'Hello', the ragga-vocalled Muffin Mix of 'Time After Time' and the Ratpack-biting Special K Dub of 'Pablo'.

The Unit - "Ain't No Need" (edit - Theo Parrish, Myele Manzanza, Akwasi Mensah, Amp Fiddler, Duminie Deporres & Ideeyah) - (10:24) 108 BPM
Review: A trio of recent Theo Parrish productions get the remix treatment, though why these versions are any more or less "special" than others isn't made entirely clear! The laidback and heartfelt 'This Is For Your' (a Maurisse Rose collab first out as a single in 2019) will suit soulful floors, while 'Ain't No Need' by The Unit (something of a 'supergroup' consisting Parrish, Amp Fiddler and friends) leans more towards jazz and broken beat. The standout to these ears, though, is 'What You Wanna C', a deep, jazzy shuffle par excellence and one for the proverbial "heads" for sure!
