Review: Here we have Volume Two in a series with quite a history behind it. Richie Weeks was a New York disco artist/producer who, back in the late 70s and early 80s, recorded for Salsoul and Prelude. He worked alongside the likes of Patrick Adams, Jocelyn Brown and Leroy Burgess but never quite attained the same levels of fame, and never gave up his day job at the post office. He wisely kept copies of everything he recorded, though - leading to his being persuaded, last year, to unveil a huge archive of 300 unreleased cuts that are now finally being unleashed. If you're a lover of first-gen disco from the funkier side of the street then this is essential - like the opener says, it's just so much funkin' fun!
