Review: The latest instalment of Crosstown Rebels' long-running Get Lost series comes from odd German deep house/tech house fusionist Acid Pauli, a man who looks more like a hairy Open University geology lecturer than a top-flight DJ. Reflecting Pauli's own style, the compilation's 41 unmixed tracks touch on shuffling, eyes-closed deepness, tactile techno, dream house and tongue-in-cheek silliness (the brilliant space-pop of "In My Spaceship" by Jan Turkenburg. More impressively, there are a string of previously unseen exclusives, including excellent tracks from Nicolas Jaar, Nu and Acid Pauli himself.

Review: It wouldn't be summer without every house label under the sun releasing an Ibiza-themed compilation. To be fair to Dave Lee's long-running Z Records imprint, they've been delivering White Isle-themed collections every summer for many years. Given that their sound - a blend of funk-fuelled grooves, soulful house, tech-tinged anthems, disco re-edits, boogie revivalism and classic US garage influences - is well suited to sun-drenched alfresco parties, it's little surprise to find that Z Records Presents Ibiza 2015 is rather good. While much of the standout material comes from Lee himself under a variety of guises (check, in particular, the Doug Willis jam "Crystal Lover"), there are also top-notch cuts from Sean McCabe, Opolopo and Fibre Foundation, whose cover of disco/boogie classic "Weekend" is simply superb.

Review: Given the title and the hefty track count here, you might be expecting a collection of 50 hastily thrown-together generic club "bangers" - but nothing could be further from the truth. Instead, Italian stalwart Ferreri has put together a truly excellent selection of house tracks that span from the very deepest, jazziest of grooves (see his own 'Jazz Imprint', for starters), to raw soul/disco strutters (Zove's 'Feeling', Soul Divide's 'Hanky Panky') to bump 'n' grind garage jams (Chemars' 'Deep At Night', to unashamed party starters like Filta Freqz' 'Dope Demand' and 'Da Hitman', which make free with big chunks lifted from classics by King Bee and Cutty Ranks/Eek-A-Mouse, respectively. Featuring scene faves like Johnick, Italobros and Jazzman Wax, this compilation is an absolute must.

Review: Basement Phil's Basement imprints proudly drop their first release in the form of a remix compilation - a rather unexpected format but nonetheless enticing! This is a 26-track monster release by Phillip Wells aka Basement Phil who put out some of the most forward-thinking hardcore and jungle back in the early 90's when all of this fuss began! As the title implies, the compilation is a retrospective of sorts, where tracks from the golden era of UK rave are reworked and rebooted, placed next to contemporary sounds form the hardcore continuum. If you're a love rof the jungle variety then this is definitely worth a listen - essential!

Review: The concept behind Bill Brewster's latest 'After Dark' compilation - his first for eight years fact fans - is "low and slow", with the author, DJ and record collector utilising this loose but logical theme to deliver an undeniably eclectic selection of high-grade cuts. Review: Given his encyclopedic knowledge of music, you'd expect any compilation put together by Bill Brewster to be full of unlikely gems and lesser-known anthems. That's certainly the case with After Dark, the first in a new DJ-focused series from the Late Night Tales camp. From start to finish, Brewster's selections are spot on, from the lowdown, slo-mo disco oddness of Sheffield chanteuse Marti Caine's "Love The Way You Love Me" and wide-eyed, acid-laden kosmiche of Coober Peder University Band's "Moon Plain", to the dirty electrofunk of Zed Bias's "Koolade" (featuring Toddla T, of all people) and mid'80s percussion fest of Martin Kershaw's "Keep On Pokin". If that wasn't enough, Brewster has also unearthed a decent Jamiroquai record. The wonders never cease.

Review: Few DJs have more experience of providing the soundtrack to Balearic sunsets than Chris Coco and Pete Gooding. It's perhaps fitting, then, that they've compiled and mixed this second installment of the Gecko Beach Club (based on Formentera, Ibiza's little brother) mix series. This bulging digital package contains a mix from each (Coco's is defiantly hazy and downtempo, Gooding's packed full of tactile deep house), plus their selections in unmixed form. There are some real gems to be found, from the sun-kissed simplicity of Seu Jorge and Almaz's unfussy cover of "Everybody Loves the Sunshine", and Blackbelt Andersen's spine-tingling "Mann Pa Mars", to the wide-eyed Balearic house goodness of Gooding's own "Malibu", and the bassy strut of Waifs & Strays' "Remedy".

There's not enough space to list all of the high-grade house, disco and boogie gems on show, but our picks of a very strong bunch currently include Grant Nelson's superb, subtly garage-tinged rework of Omar collaboration 'Starlight', Birdee's terrific, piano-powered disco-house revision of 'Do What You Feel', Doug Gomez's breathlessly percussive version of Kabbala's 'Ashewo Ara', Jean Aubergine's insatiably funky tweak of his Amy Douglas-featuring collaboration with Lee, 'Disco Numberwang', and Jusa's Rhodes-heavy jazz-funk club jam 'Musa'. Genuinely "all killer, no filler".

Review: As usual, Z Records' annual compilation of catalogue tracks doing business over on the White Isle is packed to the rafters with high-grade dancefloor treats. It opens with a sweltering Dave Lee and Harry Romero mix of Z Factor's '90s house classic 'Ride The Rhythm' and ends with Lee's string-laden disco rework of Foreal People's 'Does It Feel Good To You'; in between, you'll find an attractive mixture of bouncy Afro-boogie revivalism (Emmaculate's extended mix of 'Dougswana' by Dave Lee as Doug Willis), reworked Z Records classics (Atjazz giving a classic-but-percussive deep house feel to Jakatta's 'American Dream'), super-soulful house (Wipe The Needle),driving disco-house (Prospect Park) and breezy piano house (Sean McCabe's 'Italo Piano' mix of Soul Dhamma). As the old clich? goes, this is genuinely "all killer, no filler".
