Review: Russian Balearic beats specialist A Vision of Panorama (real name Mikhail Khvasko) has recorded deliciously sun-soaked music for plenty of labels over the years, though he seems to save his best for boogie and synth-funk revivalists Star Creature. Here he drops his third EP for the popular imprint, and predictably it's another very strong showing. Opener 'Piano Sunset' is simply sublime: a colourful, sun-bright slab of Balearic boogie brilliance smothered in colourful FM synthesiser melodies, jaunty keyboard riffs and mazy piano solos. 'Lost In Palms', meanwhile, sees the St Petersburg-based producer effortlessly join the dots between Balearica, jazz-fusion and jazz-house via loose-limbed jazz breaks, warming bass, kaleidoscopic synth stabs and snaking solos aplenty.

Review: Mysterious Russian producer A Vision Of Panorama returns with a brilliant full length release fooling up great efforts on Music For Dreams and Aficionado. Expect lo-slung, retro flavoured nu-disco with a brazen display of Balearic flair. Starting out with "Back To Elba", a groove which is cool as a cucumber, there's more mellow dancefloor stuff such as on "Barbados" or "I Saw The Wind" which call to mind Max Essa, Fabrizio Mammarella or even Lauer at times. Combined with sombre yet romantic pop ballads such as the haunting "Duality" featuring some gorgeous vocals or "Surf Blue" calling to mind Gaussian Curve: this is a truly wonderful album.

Review: After completing a hat trick of essential releases with "Seaside Tune", Russia's king of lilting melodies, coastal flavours and sunkissed sounds returns with his latest must have release. Back once again on his own Mellophonia imprint, A Vision Of Panorama invites us aboard his luxury yacht for a carefree journey across the ocean. Opening with the animalistic chatter of the Brazilian cuica and a chirping synth melody, "Two Birds" instantly transports us to tropical climes where the breeze plays among the palm trees and the clear waters kiss the white sand. Title track "New Horizons" sees the tempo drop to a languid strut as the fretless bassline takes our dancing bodies under its control. The bright tuned percussion, misty pads and mystical woodwind offer light and shade at the top end, while that Balearic beat should keep the dancefloor moving. As we follow the suns arc onto the B-side, A Vision Of Panorama turns up the heat and the tempo for the beachside proto-house peach "Coastal Waves".

Review: On paper, this collaboration between veteran Balearic/disco/house fusionists Faze Action, and Zimbabwean drummer-turned-vocalist Zeke Manyika has all the makings of a humid, sun-kissed classic. Happily, "Mangwana" - a kind of late '80s Hugh Masekela Balearic afro-house jam full of punchy horns, chiming synth melodies and chanted African vocals - is every bit as alluring as you'd expect. The Waiting For The Rain-era Masekela influences are even stronger on the delicious A Vision of Panorama mix, while the Paradise '89 Dub pushes the track further towards dubbed-out New York house territory while beefing up the backing track a little. Elsewhere on the EP, you'll find two superb versions of the percussive, tropical '80s workout "Kumbengo" (including a heavy, Junodownload-only Dub), and the hazy downtempo goodness of "Chiiko".

Review: Italy's Hell Yeah label call upon a select cast of remixers to take on the Neapolitan sounds of Walter Del Vecchio, aka Quiroga, that gives a second look at the artist's original 2019 Passages album. A Vision Of Panorama brings some cooler, breathy and tropical house vibes to "The Zoist" with some slower, subaqueous and dubbed out instrumental disco coming from My Friend Dario ("Chiaia Sunset"). Whodamanny introduces some hightailing disco funk in his reinterpretation of "Martinica Feelings" with jazz, percussion, finger lickin' guitars and drum solos pushed to full tilt in the Jazz n Palms remix.

Review: Following the recent release of Luxxury's double A-side "Hold On"/"Take It Slow", which featured reworks from J Kriv and Crackazat, Deep & Disco presents four more remixes. Greg Wilson delivers two collaborative versions; an acid-flecked deep house-meets-disco tweak of "Hold On", and a hazy, dubby, stripped-back interpretation of "Take It Slow". Arguably the most impressive remix on the package, though, comes from Aficionado Recordings and Music For Dreams artist Vision of Panaorama, whose version of "Take It Slow" is little less than a sparkling, slow-burning Balearic delight. While it retains some elements from the original - notably the bass, guitars and live drums - the additional synths and electronics are little less than sublime.
