Review: It's hard to say what the asterisks stand for, but rest assured, it is not for something pleasant. As the title track demonstrates, Dirty Basscore is intent on reigning down mayhem via splurging basslines, crashing, malevolent snares and grime-caked riffs. This is what happy hardcore would sound like if it slowed down and got really angry. Dirty Basscore pushes the approach to its extreme on "Synthtest", where a distorted kick and spiralling synths come to an angry climax. Alex Bau's remix of the title track is less visceral, and its heavy claps and slamming groove is sure to appeal to techno DJs who like it hard.
