Review: Southpoint co-boss KXVU returns to the homestead with another weighty dispatch. A year and two dope EPs on Project All-Out and Simply Deep have passed since his debut album Cub Inna Caribbean and he's making up for lost time with five serious sphere-spanning sizzlers: "Empire" is all drama and hybrid fire, Writz taps-in for a wry lesson in aggy angularity on "Tekki" and "Hex" takes us deep into the most mystical corners of KXVU's mind. Elsewhere "Koya" applies the breaks for a high speed chase down the darkest of Tibetan alleys while "Ratisu" closes on a lean mean neck snap. Remix-wise Mr B flips "Hex" into a percussive steppy experience while JFO dubs the dickens out of "Retisu". Guaranteed to get your dancefloor into some serious (empire) states.
