109 BPM Review: Aksel Schaufler aka Superpitcher's Ravedays series reaches its ninth instalment with an unforgettable two-tracker. "Protest Song" is led by chiming bells, frazzled, purring bass and some half-heard, muffled vocals that appear amid the dark electronic squelches. It's a foreboding, menacing slice of low-slung disco and appears to have been produced as a response to the increasingly precarious political state of the world. By contrast, "Resistance" sounds like it was recorded as a means of rising up through dancing. Centred on a soaring bass and tough kicks, its chants build and build to the point where even the most apathetic listener will be compelled to dance.
