Review: Take it back, as in way back to 1988 when the word techno had just metamorphosed from electro and was only just starting to cross the Atlantic thanks to the likes of Steve Bicknell, Andrew Weatherall to Tony Addis & Kid Batchelor via their Warriors Dance imprint. Helping introduce a sound of rave to a new generation way back when, Warriors Dance relaunched itself in 2018 to reissue and remaster a series of new records, while bringing others to the digital format for the first time. This record here was first released in '89 - just after the fall of the Berlin wall - and was one of four titles the project released. This 'Retrip' refreshes the bee-bopping breaks, hip house, acid and rave elements that dominated the dance music landscape of the time and brings with it a dope unreleased DAT mix, choice Pirate Acid mix and the booming, percussion-centric Warriors Workout mix.
