Review: Liquicity Records is a Dutch drum & bass label run by Maris Goudzwaard that deals specifically in deep and ethereal jungle with a commercial edge. The label is also renowned for its mix series, the latest of which is the present Alchemy. There's twelve diverse and wonderful tunes on here, the kind of d&b you hear on being played on the radio these days. "Regrets" by Fliwo is particularly alluring thanks to its luscious, seductive vocals.
Review: The Liquicity YouTube channel was founded in 2008 and quickly became an integral part of the changing ways people found, listened to and discussed drum and bass culture. Now with more than 600 tracks uploaded to their name, they've decided it's time for a bit of a trip down memory lane. To name all the massive artists featured here would be madness but let's not beat around the bush: If you love drum and bass, your favourite tracks will be on here. Enough said. Time to reminisce.
Review: Liquicity - first breaking into the scene as a YouTube hub for all your favourite D&B, now celebrating eight years in the game, the channel's big kahuna Maris Goudzwaard has put together an incredible roster of artists to join in on his latest compilation. Featuring folks like Bachelors of Science, Dan Dakota, Keeno and Bcee among newer faces, this is about as an immaculate contemporary liquid various artists release as you're going to get this year. Enjoy.
Pola & Bryson & Telomic - "Whisper To Me" (feat Sammie Bella - Telomic remix) - (5:40) 172 BPM
Review: Liquicity is Maduk's Netherlands-based liquid leviathan, a platform which celebrates music that puts your arms in the hair and a smile on your face. It's all about the happy vibes and the warm sounds. Their latest VA EP is, accordingly, in that vein and it's a corker, with 8 tracks of sumptuous liquid from the likes of Makoto, Telomic and Polygon, all of which are remixes. The best is Telomic's reinvention of Pola & Bryson's 'Whisper To Me' featuring Sammie Bella, which has a delightfully crisp percussive underpinning and an equally joyous bassline, all of which sit just beneath Sammie's idyllic vocals. This is Liquicity to its core - check the release.
