Review: Whenever we see the Uprise Audio name flickering into action within the store, we know we are guaranteed a treat or two. We aren't disappointed as they welcome in Asylum for two original heaters, kicking off with the fluttering arpeggios and grizzly bass tones of the title track 'Green Rolex'. On the flipside, the party steps up a gear as we are introduced to an array of vibrant bass synthesizer curls and haunted atmospheric design on 'Micro Dose', providing an excellent contrast to the A-side and rounding up an excellent double drop.

Review: Uprise have played a key role in Asylum's dubstep adventures since his earliest 140 outings. Now a scene mainstay who appears to spend as much of his time in LA as he does in London, the man who was once part of D&B troupe Vicious Circle returns to Seven's imprint with two more delicious percussion-heavy sub-surgers. "Always Love" is sprung with an immense low-end groove that seems so slinky it's tangibly elastic. Complete with bold drum textures and a subtly executed vocal, it's an instant floor-melter. "Bad Habit" is a touch darker with a gritty scratchy bassline that skitters unpredictably over the rock-solid sub. Feeling love for Asylum? Always.

Review: Dub Police's MyStyle mix series has become a force to be reckoned with in dubstep, an annual showcase from some of their most exciting artists, each outing appears deeper, more involving and widescreen than the last. The Others has clearly gone to town here with a whole heap of his productions and collaborations. For mix lovers this is a must; 28 tracks all seamed together tightly, it explores the darkest corners of the scene with a brave boldness. Those looking for individual tracks will also be pleased to see the likes of Icicle's techno-like industrial VIP "Need A Job", Sleeper's disturbing "Civil War" and Thelem's tripped out mind-twister "Haunted Harmonics". Stylish, sonically arresting and consummately accomplished, The Others has represented himself with serious skills right here.

Review: Mixed live by DJ Beenie, Garage Kiss: Sounds of the Underground Vol. 1 is a compilation that features 25 of the garage underground's biggest tracks, showcasing the best of the new wave of UK garage talent. Highlights include The Next Room's "Turning Point", whose horn samples recall Roy Davis Jr's classic "Gabriel", Fuzzy Logik's "Playground", which weaves a tightly rolling UK Funky beat and fat bassline around Myshy's catchy vocal action and jazzy, bright synth melody, and Danny B-Line's refix of Redlight's "Source 16", wrapping a bass squelch around rave whistles and hollow snares. As skillful as DJ Beenie's mixing is, the superb selections also come as unmixed original tracks.
