Review: The Rank1 name is one that represents quality, and although they ensure its more that than quantity.. over the years they have stacked up an unbelievable amount of killers. The pair pioneered the tech trance sound which so many have followed, and they continue to move forward and sound fresh as ever with the latest (suitably titled) 'Floorlifter'. It's all about that bassline (as is so often the case), with shuffly percussion and dramatic delays setting the bed for a hi-tech bass and layers of futuristic electric synth lines battling their way over the top, twisting and building at every 16 bars and keeping the energy high octane throughout. These guys will never run out of ideas, and we will never tire of hearing them.. Essential!
Review: The much anticipated follow up to 'The Great Escape', and It will come as no surprise to read this is another belter. Featuring a killer topline from Sarah Bettens that wont leave your head for days, it harnesses that always-aimed-for yet often missed collaborative blend of individual styles. Their cutting edge tech flavours shining bright and Rank1's anthemic riffs thrashing through full-fire. Without doubt one of the biggest tunes of the year so far, which will stick around for months to come... Get on it!!
Review: It seems to be album mania at the moment, as here we get a glimpse of yet another full artist album, as Armind return with one of their best loved acts, the infamous all-American trio of Cerf, Mitiska, As always with the tricky first 'Single', you need to go big.. and it doesn't come much bigger than collaborating with trance legends Rank1. The Original holds all the song-writing and class of 'Light The Skies', 'You Never Said', 'Beggin' You', and it is unsurprisingly stunning. Our attention on this occasion however is taken by the pacier and ballsier Thomas Heredia mix. With Chris Reece also turning a punchy cut that will work in house and electro sets.. A contender for Album of the Year we feel, quite possibly!
