Review: Time for a reload! DJ Hybrid's Deep In The Jungle look back over the last few years of skankings, tear-ups and vibe missions and curate them all in this awesome compilation that stretches the entire jungle drum & bass spectrum. From the classic Bristol style bubbles and bumps of cuts like Conrad Subs' 'It Goes On' to the more traditional junglistic savagery of cuts like Lupo's 'Retrograde', over 30 cuts we're treated to some beautiful 174BPM moments. Other highlights include the emotional 'Must Remember' from Critycal Dub, the powerful and poignant energy of the late great JDizz and the undying rawness of man like Kumarachi. This is awesome music.

Review: The Cocoon compilation series has become an unofficial state of the nation statement for modern house and techno, and the latest instalment is no exception. It features deep, Detroit styled grooves from Damiano van Erckert and Stephen Brown alongside more accessible minimal house from Claude Von Stroke and murky, analogue jams, including the layered, dubbed out Daniel Avery track, "Your Future Looks Different in the Light". The compilation series has also been successful in spotlighting emerging artists, and volume T is no exception, as it shines a light on Yokto's bass-heavy deep house and the swaggering electro-techno of Defekt's "Terraform".

Review: Two unlikely producers team up for this joint release on Bicep's label. Extrawelt have been releasing tranced out, big room techno on labels like Cocoon and Traum for the past 15 years, while Irish producer DeFeKT has been pushing a raw, hardware-driven version of electro and techno on renowned imprints like Omnidisc and Boysnoize. This partnership sees them deliver an EP that seamlessly draws on both musical backgrounds; "Field Day" is a throbbing, spaced out groove that's led by a pulsating groove and a warbling bass, with these elements providing the backing for alien synths. On "Off Planet", DeFeKT's ability to craft dynamic electro comes to the fore: an ominous bass underpins steely 808s and wonderfully bleak synth lines - a ringing endorsement for this unpredictable partnership.

Review: Bloody Mary celebrates the tenth anniversary of her Dame Music imprint with this 303-focused compilation. Veteran techno producer Thomas Heckmann drops the tough, peak time "Fluffy Fingers" and Tim Taylor's "Fear of Acid" is a visceral analogue banger. Meanwhile, on "Acid Ring", Tin Man delivers a harder than usual version of his 303-driven style while on "Metal Rain", Cardopusher takes inspiration from ebm to craft a bleak track that wouldn't sound out of place on a Hacker EP. The compilation also shines a light on Bloody Mary's own production skills, and her contribution, "Reclaim", is an expansive acid groover that has echoes of classic Underground Resistance.

Review: On reflection, a collaborative EP between Irish electro don DeFeKT and German duo Extrawelt may not have seemed like the most likely creative partnership. But Sven Vath's Cocoon imprint has made this alliance a reality. In fact, on this two-tracker both producers effortlessly combine their styles. "Cell Sync" sees a fusion of pulsating bass and mysterious synths making for a dramatic electro-techno track. On "In The Space Of", the approach is more grainy but just as effective. DeFeKT and Extrawelt come together to sprinkle growling acid lines over a rolling, bass-heavy groove and dusty drums - the end result is the very best of both worlds.
