Review: Big name collaborations can ever so often be a hit and miss affair, with one half of the pairing taking centre stage and leaving the others style tagging along behind. Review: Dutch super-producer Joop has been back to his very best with his last couple of releases, and there is no sign of letting up as the next bomb of dance-floor destruction for High Contrast sees him lock horns with Lebanon's leading electronic force, Raneem. 'Plur' is packed full of drama and big room appeal, with Joops notoriously techy beats shuffling alongside a rumbling synth line and intricately panned infill's. The epic as always breakdown transcends from gentle pianos and warming pads to a rip roaring electric lead line that will quite simply erupt any club. As if that wasn't enough 'Poison Ivy' on the flip is another wicked tech trancer worthy of a release in its own right.. Turn these up, loud!!

Review: Dutch techno producer Joop Junior might be new on the scene but he's already been a busy little bee; heralded by none other than Richie Hawtin in his 2012 New Horizons series as an artist to watch, his unique combination of erratic sampling and industrial beats make for a curiously satisfying listen. Meeting somewhere in the middle between experimental, progressive and minimal, there's something odd and intriguing about Joop Junior's style. Whether it's his sample choices, the way his percussion sounds simultaneously huge and flat or how each track feels cut-and-pressed and ready for the club, there's no denying that this little beauty is a definite worth a look.
