Review: Adam K. Roll first got to know the Echo Inspectors through a chance encounter, but it took another 15 years before he made his debut on Primary Colours. Not that this is a deterrent for Kroll, the label and the listener. On The Final Call, he delivers a unique take on dub. The title track features slivers of Jamaican toasting. Remaining in abstract territories, both "Into The Ocean (Reborn)" and "Kassiopeia Dub" have echoes of Pole's digital dub pathos. It's not all introspective sound scapes though. "Heliospheric" is a wonderfully woozy deep house roller. Echo Inspectors also impress with an evocative, gently chugging take on "Into The Ocean (Reborn)".
