Searching - (5:31) 174 BPM

Review: It's definitely summer time as the big soulful booties start rolling out and sounding perfect. Fokuz have been a great source of these edits over the years and these 90s switch-ups are no exception. In fact they're some of the best we've heard as the likes of Tupac, Erykah Badu and Roy Ayers get the 174 treatment. Subtly done in a way that's reminiscent of the early 2000s golden era liquid, they give the original song all the space it needs to breath while bringing it into dnb realm. Highlights include the glistening jazz of 'Call Tyrone' and the Roy Ayers iconic 'Searching'. Beautiful.

Review: Since establishing in 1999, there is no doubt Fokuz Recordings is one of the most influential powerhouses in the realm of Drum & Bass music. This time, the label is back with this mysterious pseudonym Unknown Artist. We will not be able to answer the tell you who is behind Unknown Artist, but as any previous releases, you are in for another hit here. The track titled 'Take Me As I Am' commences with exhilarating hyper-speed breaks and chilling hi-hats, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Following this, the soothing and romantic 'Do 4 Love' unfolds, offering a tranquil experience that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. Additionally, 'Long Way Up' presents an exceptional fusion of impeccably crafted R&B vocal samples and sleek beats. Furthermore, the release includes a thought-provoking, late-night rendition of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence,' delicately infused with piano melodies.

Review: The mysterious Unknown Artist returns to Fokuz with another fat round-up of re-rubs and big sample-slapping D&B. Good time D&B for party heads, and sculpted well enough for the heads to stroke their beards or give a wry grin, once again we're treated to a whole load of familiar vocals and hooks laced carefully in, around and over the breaks. Highlights include the Darondo flexing 'Didn't I' (which some may remember from Breaking Bad), the seminal rave classic 'Need Your Loving' and the Badu to the bone 'On & On' but each cut is guarantee to get the butts wriggling.

Review: Some shadowy business here, as Romain Megroz's Chikyu-u label offers up a quartet of untitled tracks from a mysterious, unnamed artist. "Untitled 01" is a driving but spacey affair that underpins intergalactic pads and late '90s style British tech-house sounds with a chunky but snappy groove, while "Untitled 02" wraps drifting, dub disco style ambient motifs, birdsong and yearning sunrise melodies around a typically locked-in groove. "Untitled 03" offers up a spot of hypnotic tech-house/dub techno fusion - check the restless analogue bassline and fluttering electronic motifs - before our unknown hero rounds things off via the ultra-deep house warmth of dub techno influenced closer "Untitled 04". In a word: excellent.

Review: More mysterious fodder from DJ Kaos' Jolly Jams imprint, which specialises in oddball, off-kilter and saucer-eyed re-edits, reworks and bootleg remixes. 'Promo Only (Original)' is in many ways typical of the imprint's skewed but inspired output, with dreamy, elongated chords, lo-fi electronic melodies, pots-and-pans percussion and (presumably sampled) eyes-closed guitar solos riding a raw TB-303 bassline and machine drums. 'Promo Only (Remix A)' layers the same lilting Steve Hillage-esque guitars over a hypnotic groove and druggy synthesizer arpeggio lines, while 'Promo Only (Remix B)' re-imagines the track as a bright, sun-kissed post-Italo number that's as tactile and touchy-feely as they come. Cracking cosmic disco goodness all told.

One More
One More - (8:47) 171 BPM Hot
Notorious Honey - (6:26) 172 BPM
Review: With an instantly recogniseable piano skit from the early 2000s Ashanti hit "Foolish", this slice of smooth RnB influenced drum and bass comes fresh from the Focuz bed of cool new talent. Funnily enough, not much is known about this particular Unknown, however what we can say is that his brand of sunshine grooves and soulful twists give some of the sunnier liquid gods a run for their money. "One More" revels in LA rap and pop-gangsta style, whereas "Notorious Honey" sees syrupy-smooth vocals swoon over a jangly guitar riff and rolling vibes. One for the beach bums.

Review: Any ideas as to who this mystery artist might be? Snapped up by Fokuz to continue their unstoppable roster of impressive new and upcoming artists, both tracks on this enigmatic release hold true to their ethos of lush, liquid rhythms and classic D&B sounds. The first untitled track is heavily influenced by old school jungle, but comes at it from a far more laid back approach. Sweeping strings round off the edges and uniquely husky vocals sweeten the deal. "Liquid Love" is an all out summer roller, building that big, warm, bouncy vibe alongside soulful sampling and earworm-inducing vocals. Impressive stuff - now we just need to find out who they are.

Review: And now for a stepper and a roller of a different type, Focuz dip into their fresh artists roster to pick up two tasty soul-influenced beauties. "Gonna Be Alright" is equal parts stompin' and groovin' with funky guitar and beautiful vocals from Rose Hart. Second track "The Other Side of the D&B Game" takes a smooth, soulful approach, with rich brass and an R&B feel. Velvety. Take a chance if you've not heard of these guy before and pick this up - both tunes are stunning.

You Have Taken It All
You Have Taken It All - (4:53)
Review: Steeped in mystery, the latest release from Fokuz should soon have tongues wagging as to who the mystery man or woman behind the moniker is. It builds from a sparse, stripped back intro of ticking beats, eerily placed so as to make it feel like you're intruding on something. Slowly it builds out from this with firm, terse drumbeats and a murmuring melody and silky smooth vocal. The jazz and soul influences come in thick and fast, with a sultry trumpet tone and strumming guitar reminiscent of the sounds of Bonobo and Andreya Triana. Intriguing from the off, this is well worth checking out.

Review: Fokuz's Unknown Artist is back for their latest outing on the imprint and, as per usual, it's an EP full of non-bootleg bootlegs, as the Dutch label continue their somewhat cheeky but nonetheless highly appreciated talent for sourcing recognisable samples. 'Just Vibe With It' is beautifully smooth, its back end just rollicks with soul and there's a deliciously swing, eyes-closed sensation across its arrangement. 'You Know How To' is the other standout, with a set of sumptuous samples that scream samba Sundays, all placed over a funky 174 beat. What more could you want?

Right Here Right Now - (4:38) 174 BPM
Review: A cheeky booty offshoot from Fokuz sister brand Celsius, here we find two mysterious rubs of the stadium-slaying Zedd. "Spectrum In Drum & Bass" is the main hit as Zedd's Spectrum remix of Miani's "Never Let You Go" is given its own coat of D&B go-faster stripes. "Right Here, Right Now" is a touch more subtle in its make-up but no less anthemic in its delivery. Whoever's behind this project needs props!

Review: UTTU return with what is probably their most impressive release yet; The Sadist, a collaboration by the legendary DJ Stingray, and Unknown To The Unknown's DJ Haus. It certainly lives up to its namesake, with "The Sadist (Part One) employing a 160BPM tempo and a searing electro bassline, and furious drum programming that brings the influence of Chicago juke to Stingray's Detroit leaning template. Part two of "The Sadist" meanwhile concentrates more on rapid 808 drum programming and more fluid synths, dragging the listener remorselessly through a world of alien sounds and breakbeat bass. The remixes meanwhile are something very special indeed, with Drexciya's Heinrich Mueller reworking "The Sadist" with a slower tempo, brittle, frosty synth shards and weird transmissions from the other side, and Cestrian (aka Ali Renault) provides similarly great remix of "The Sadist Pt 2", employing all manner of analogue arpeggios in a fine approximation of Detroit's finest.

Mystical and laced with detailed twists and an ever-developing bassline, this remaster brings all the elements to the fore with serious weight and clarity. The same can be said for "Midnight Special" as its cloud-bursting pads roll out like a hurricane all around you and the deep dream vocal fixes you in the eye of the storm. Timeless.

Review: Second guessing what Jamie Unknown will release next can be tricky, but you can guarantee it will be bold, energetic, heavily electronic and most likely pleasingly bass heavy. So what has he served up on this outing for Part 4? There are two tracks to choose from, both of which are available in original and extended mix forms. 'The Get Done' is a nostalgic, retro-futurist peak-time anthem in waiting, where eyes-closed vocal snippets and colossal piano riffs leap above a bassline house style organ bassline and action-packed, high-octane house beats. His UKG influences come to the fore on 'Stone Street', a bumpin' workout rich in vintage speed garage style beats, cut-up vocal snippets (a cap-tip to Todd Edwards) organ riffs aplenty and a weighty, jazzy analogue bassline.

Sinnerman's Dream - (7:03) 136 BPM Hot
Funky Thrillin' Disco Balls - (6:02) 134 BPM
Review: While it may be low on subtleties, this release by an unknown producer scores highly in the entertainment stakes. The title track is an upfront, pumping techno track, littered with big drops, and more notably featuring trancey hooks and a big diva vocal that sounds very familiar - and explains why the author went to lengths to protect his identity! "Funky Thrillin' Disco Balls" is more straightforward, a slamming, rolling groove full of insidious samples that is closer in style to loop techno's party tendencies. However, if you're looking for a truly unpretentious anthem, then make sure to check the title track.

Masimbabele (The Durian Brothers remix) - (6:08) 132 BPM
Played by: Chris Coco
Review: The Unknown Cases' "Masambabele", first released way back in 1983, has long been considered an "Afro-cosmic" classic; a Daniele Baldelli favourite popular for its' tribal chants, growling guitars and chugging electronic groove. It's been remixed numerous times over the years, and here Emotional Especial have a go, handing over the original parts to Justin Van Der Volgen and The Durian Brothers. The latter jammed with some of the original musicians when creating their interpretation, which brilliantly fuses their renowned wonkiness and polyrhythmic beats with dubbed-out snippets of the original horns and electronics. While fantastic, it's Van Der Volgen's shuffling afro-cosmic-goes-dub-disco take - an altogether breezier proposition - that will undoubtedly get most plays from DJs.

Review: Robi Insinna aka Headman has been charming all and sundry with his Relish Imprint for about a decade or so now. Here he presents the latest installment in his series on vintage cuts in reworked form. The Unknown Cases' cult 1983 Afrobeat-style grinder "Masimbabele" gets an acidic stomp-a-along rejig, while The Units' cool as ice new-waver "High Pressure Days" is turned into dubbed out electro pop. Gina X's moody homage to Questin Crisp, "No G.D.M." appears twice - first as an old punk funk remix by Headman, and secondly as an underwater post-disco jam by Red Axes. Smokin'!

Elevator Ride (The Orielles ambient mix) - (5:40) 105 BPM
Review: This is one you won't want to miss, in part because it's the first studio collaboration between long-serving UK electronic music heroes Sean Johnston (A Love From Outer Space, Hardway Brothers) and Andrew Meecham (The Emperor Machine, Chicken Lips, Bizarre Inc). Predictably, it's also very good, with title track 'Elevator Ride' providing a near-perfect fusion of analogue electronics, far-sighted, Detroit-inspired synth sounds, jangling piano riffs, psychedelic TB-303 "acid" lines and driving machine drums. Johnston and Meecham opt for a more chugging tempo - and even more wayward, mind-altering TB-303 action - on thickset Afro-electronic throb-job 'Cthulu Macula', while the Orielles' ambient revision of 'Elevator Ride' is a blissful, immersive, '90s IDM-inspired treat. Review: When we saw that the dubwise sounds of Wevaman and Unknown Order were teaming up on the Styx Recordings imprint, we were overrun with excitement, eager to get stuck into what the team up had conjured. It's safe to say they did not disappoint as we get into a vibrant A-side in 'Dreadlock' which channels dubby subs and classic reggae samples, resulting in a warm piece of dub music. On the flip side we have the more evil arrangement of 'Smoking Dub', a track with a dub structure. focussed potent melodics, widened horns and spacious FX. Unknown Artist 2 - "Untitled" - (9:51) 112 BPM
Review: There's very little information to go on regarding this Power XIII release, but let the music be your guide. There's a distinctly gothic 1980s flavour to the music - it pumps hard but it's more concerned with texture and atmosphere than modern techno dynamics. The sleaze of the synth coursing through the A side should be enough to get any dark room heaving, while the wound up rhythmic tension of the flip will dig its claws into supple grey matter and inspire a macabre kind of dancefloor transcendence. Perfect for those who like a sinister edge to their night out.

Arya - (7:41) 125 BPM Hot
Review: Italian crew Unknown Collective come correct on this latest Purism joint as they drop some seriously bumping deep house heat to get bodies popping with approval. "Nodi" is the consummate lead jam, all exuberant energy and rock solid functionality, just like a DJ's best friend should be. "Virgo" is, on the surface, a slinkier affair but don't be fooled as there's some serious weight in that bassline which will absolutely rock on a proper soundsystem. "Arya" is the dreamier cut of the EP - the groove is still solid, but there's a dreamy tone to the pad hovering in the background and the track is sprinkled with all kinds of extra sonic delights to toy with your mind at the hazy end of the dance.

Review: Unknown Mobile is the lesser-known recording alias of Levi Bruce, a DJ, musician and producer based in Vancouver. Interestingly, Bruce seemingly shares some of the same inspirations and influences as other deep house producers from the laidback Canadian city, because Mixed Use is full of tracks that ripple with drifting, ambient-minded instrumentation, warm jazz-funk style basslines, super-dreamy chord sequences, dubby house beats and ricocheting, late night percussion hits. All six tracks are superb in their own way, though our favourites include the becalmed, gently pulsing early morning shuffle of "The Juggler (Dog Day Dub)", the jazzy, sun-kissed deep house warmth of "Four Sided Pebble" (think Jack J, and you're close) and the ultra-spacey bliss of "Shoreline Dub".

Review: Voyeurhythm deliver vinyl-led releases from an international set that literally drip with classy vintage house vibes. Here it seems they've been lazy - there's no title and one act is simply unknown. But don't worry; the quality is still here and it's strong! The Linkwood remix of "Biscuit Twat" takes us back to the late 80s and, with its rolling bassline, shuffling percussion and fuzzy synth stabs, does nothing to stop those Burrell Brothers resurfacing. "3AM Piano Thing" kinda describes itself - piano house riff married to killer raw jackin 808s equals early hours delirium. Hot stuff!

Review: Sample-based, hip-hop influenced house label Ele returns with a second missive. This time round, there's a quartet of artists at the controls, namely Manchester man Contours, GAMM and Local Talk regular Sameed, and the previously unheard Replete. The latter's "Legislate", a loose, languid, jazz-flecked chunk of sunshine deep house warmth featuring the suave vocals of Bini, is arguably the EP's standout moment - though it is pushed all the way by the crunchy drums, meandering electric piano solos and head-in-the-clouds dustiness of Sameed's "Someone Like U". The breezy, synth-heavy Balearic house breeziness of Contours' "Night Shift" and the drowsy, cut-up house thrust of "Rush", created by a producer who wishes to remain nameless, complete a fine package.

Review: Two quite different tracks make up what's only the second release from the fledgling Vier Breakz label, though whether they're both the work of the same producer(s) isn't entirely clear as both are uncredited. In any case, 'Throwdown' is an authentic-sounding slice of John Barry-esque car chase funk that could have come straight from the OST of a 70s cop thriller, while 'Slick Walkin' is a far mellower (and far simpler) looping groove that might, perhaps, soundtrack the midnight stake-out scene from the same movie. Think the former for dancefloor play, and the latter for lazy Sunday afternoons.

If you plan on having a go at a casino any time soon, we've found your theme song for the evening. These crunchy flavours continue on the flip side as 'All Good' delivers a more stripped back creation, focussing more so on the potency of it's grizzly bass licks and scattered horn-lines. Lovely work!

Review: We kick off 2019 here with some very exciting stuff as brand new label 'Vier Breakz' bring in some breakbeat pressure with two original scorchers from Unknown. We begin by looking into the intricate layers of 'Funkalicious', which stacks well rounded drums with whistles, funky horns, smooth keys and more with fabulous results. On the flip side we are introduced to the more soul inspired arrangements of 'Time Out', which sends some original soul instrumentation to the chopping block, reworking the rhythms into a hip hop style arrangement. Very clever stuff indeed!

Review: Deep house out of the top drawer is the order of the day on this reissued four-tracker from Vibes Ltd, which first came out back in 2012. 'Black Patina' is a pad-y, late-night jam with a (non-Peech Boys) "don't make me wait" vocal sample, 'If My Love' is a more downtempo cut bordering on leftfield/slo-mo territory, 'Blue Velvet' marries heavy, thudding drums to the kind of deep, dreamy vibes Italian labels Irma and Antima used to specialise in back in the early 90s, and finally 'Higher Ground' is another one for those post-club, melting-into-the-sofa moments. And if you dig this, there are another nine EPs in the series to collect!

Review: 'Unknown' anonymously contacted lots of blogs a while back, to introduce their new 'hush hush' side project. It could be a hoax of course, but that didn't stop everybody from here to Timbuktu (including Ellie Goulding) raving about it. In fact it's the latter's involvement that's led to speculation that it's actually the work of her recent beau, Skrillex. Who knows for sure, but what isn't in doubt is the quality of the music. #001 is a slow tropical affair, with a constant thumping kick and deep-in-the-Amazon atmospherics. Elsewhere we have the warped R&G(litch) of #002 (complete with 'ethereal' female vocals, wink wink) and the Actress-aping weirdness of #004.

Review: Oneknown, Unknown and Unknwn - three names, one producer. This retrospective release on Champion Sound tells the artist's story so far; moody, deep and dubby are the only ways to describe the sounds within. Across 12 tracks, the producer explores glitchy, heads-down beats and snares taking their cues from early Hyperdub releases and more contemporary bass flavours. It's music for the heads by the heads, and we recommend you to check out "001", "005" and "Blame" in particular - think Burial and take it further one step into something a little more gloomy and nerve-rattling. True outsider sounds from the depths of the underground.

Review: The Belfast based Unknown emerged last year with an internet shaped tidal wave of intrigue and second guessing surrounding his productions and identity, a fair bit of which was whipped up by Champion Sound, the label he was signed to. After releasing two 12"s of untitled productions for the Irish label, Unknown returns with a fuller take on his trademark approach - think waves of sub-bass, swung percussion and tense atmospherics - teaming up with vocalist Gemma Dunleavy on the title track "I Try". Evidently Unknown's decidedly morose style is well suited to a vocalist, especially one with a mastery of sorrow like Dunleavy. There's the astral garage of "Blame" and "Lucid" to contend with too; the latter priming Unknown for potential future moves in housier directions. The so prolific it hurts Ejeca lines up before the run out groove with a remix of "I Cry" for the UK house heads.

Review: Over the years we have seen a number of stars born out of the GS Dubs imprint, the sister label to Garage Shared and a home to many of the brightest new garage names. They have decided to celebrate their fourth year of activity with a truly sumptuous collection, featuring 40 of their most beloved drops over the years. With a track list that features top names such as DJ Jackum, Clarcq, Purple Velvet Curtains, Soulecta, Gemi, Tuff Culture and more, this is a garage DJ's dream supply pack, with the sounds ranging from rampant 4x4 to wiley 2-step originals. As far as compilations go, this is a great example of how to balance the old with the new, with the GS Dubs mantra being to constantly push both types of talent forward with the same energy and expectation, making them a truly wonderful imprint.

Review: The beast has landed! Ram Records' most important releases in recent times, the pioneering label celebrate quarter of a century with this insane collection of 25 seminal cuts and 17 selected reversions. Roots and future all in check, every cut reminds why Ram and its founder Andy C have the status they do in drum & bass. Total Science's tasteful jazz touches on "Cool Down", Metrik's growling Aston Martin style rebuild of "X-Ray", Bladerunner's precision update on "Quest", Shimon's personal update on his and Andy's "Night Flight", Chase & Status's elephantine shake-up of "Valley Of The Shadows". We're just listing perfect remixes for the sake of it now... You already know how big a deal this is.

Review: The Mellophonia label offshoot Fusion Sequence won us over with its well-presented and great-sounding first EP, and now a quick follow-up does the same. This one is another V/A affair that starts with some nice futuristic robot disco from Vanity Project. There is more organic and lush Balearic from Bobby Bricks and Pacific Coliseum follows that spine-tingling Ibiza sunset vibe. Later there is everything from late-night electronic house to lazy disco via Sorcerer's blissed out 'Just For Love' which would entrance any dance floor. There's as much quality as there is variation on this one, which makes it a useful EP indeed.

Review: Madcap is back, back again and he's landing on Fokuz for a fearsome, junglist EP that smacks of the old school but appeals to the new. We especially like the sense of cleanness in the arrangement, all the elements are disparate but synergistic and there's a real feel of raw vibrancy combined with modernist programming and spot-on syncopation. 'Pressure' is our favourite, with an almost hypnotic vocal sample that pulsates, ebbs and flows throughout the tune with wicked effect. The drums are in point, the basses equally so. Wicked stuff from the Fokuz crew.

Review: 48 tracks? Asbo you are truly spoiling us. The quality is as high as the quantity too; a selection of Asbo classics and brand new flavours we're taken from smooth silky rolling soul such as Westy's "Making Moves" and jazzy V-style thunder like Savannah's "Glide Away" to hurricane amen depth (Dawn Raid, Gold Dubs & Jinx - "Old Fashioned") and classic mid 90s style jump-up ruffage (Cabin Fever's remix of "Raw Dogs") via warm-as-toast dub soul a la Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion's "Talk Too Much" and Daffy's beautiful "Love Dub". And that's only an eighth of killer cuts on here. Easily one of the best tenners a junglist can invest this month.

Review: Now in their 22nd year, Fokuz has to be one of the longest running - and certainly the most prolific - drum & bass labels to ever come out of The Netherlands. A prime spot for breaking new talent, and renowned for their glacial, atmospheric liquid sound, the label have that perfect balance of newcomers and established names which is reflected perfectly here on this reflective look-back over 2020. Highlights include Command Strange & Cnof's dusty soul delight 'Rainy Day', the twinkling cosmic funk of Maverick Soul's 'We In Here' and the shimmering soul of Askel & Elere's 'Honestly'.

Review: Fokuz is without a doubt one of the best labels in the game, their diversity alone places them right at the top of the metaphorical leader board and nothing exemplifies this better than their Collaborations series. Featuring a litany of artists across almost as many styles, including Molecular, ALB, Critical Event and more, putting this third instalment up there with the others. Molecular's 'What Defines' is darker than what Fokuz is known for and it just absolutely slams the whole way, a proper minimal roller with tonnes of character and more than a little charm. The first track on the album, it sets the tone for the rest nicely.

Review: Most labels celebrate their 50th or 100th release but Fokuz have never done things by convention, which is what's made them such a unique success story in drum & bass for 17 years. Here we find them celebrating their 80th release (and neatly referencing the work of Quentin Tarantino) with their biggest project to date that stretches two albums, over 30 tracks and some of the biggest names in D&B: Break, Calibre, Technimatic, BCee, Need For Mirrors, the list goes on. If you know Fokuz's output you'll already be on this. If you don't, just jump on the velvet sub rolls of Calibre's remix of Impish, Lenzman's hurricane soul twist of Random Movement or Dreazz & Stal's percussive frenzy "Ethiopian Jungle" and you'll know exactly what's going on right here.

Review: One of the most iconic and prolific labels in the D&B scene, Fokuz Recordings manage to simultaneously show off the best in the game whilst supporting new talent and the results are fantastic. This album - a recap of 2018 - exemplifies their approach. It's full of big names and bigger tracks, including S.P.Y's remix of 'Always Yours' by Macca & Loz Contreras, Artificial Intelligence's remix of 'String City' by Lenzman and Calibre's remix of 'Forward Thinking' by Satl. Whilst these are obviously great, the bigger story lies in the lesser-known participants and their ability to pull at your heartstrings. DJ Ransome, Edlan, Soligen amongst others all come seriously correct on this LP, turning it into a seriously good release.

Review: One of the savviest axis-flexors in the D&B / jungle game, DJ Hybrid has an all seeing eye across the soundboy spectrum with his two labels and mixed-style signature. Here the full focus is on his flagship label Audio Addict with his first exclusive-powered mix album that covers all the crucial corners. Every track rattles and shakes with energy and subversion: the jungle chaos of his own "Mix & Blend", the iced-out atmos and toxic drop of Swerve's "Massive & Crew", the gunshot bass holes caused by Lost Dynamics "New Funk", the jaw-dropping ruthlessness of Ray Keith's take on "Badboy", the list goes on... DJ Hybrid levels up once more.

Review: The Garage Shared team have landed again, this time delivering a spicy second edition of their extremely popular 'Around The World In UKG' series, exploring garage from across the globe. We open up with the jittering piano runs of 'Wind' from Mar'One, which sets the tone nicely, before the bulbous moogy basslines of 'Leep Stick' from Unknown David leap into view. From here, the gnarly LFO sweeps and unpredictable rhythmic chops of Pligfig's 'Wake Up' arrive in style, followed by both the stuttering acidic basslines of 'Nostalgia' from Tripleset and Lincoln Baio's nostalgic masterclass in 'Fallin', which utilizes a fabulous vocal sampling to conjure up images of a yesteryear. Finally, NEVE & 5thSuite link up with Connie D for 'Flex', giving us euphoric exploration to round things off, topped with cowbell-like percussion and hard hitting horn stabs for good measure, signing out on a very successful collection!

Review: Germany's Dennis Kaun AKA DJ Kaos brings us a 12-track best-of compilation from his own Jolly Jams label (est 2010) and - perhaps partly reflecting the fact that some of these tracks were made 10 years apart - there's a wide array of sounds and styles to choose from, ranging from the lively piano house of opener 'Breakthrough' to the 303 squelch of 'Acid Milk', and from the new wave-tinged Italo strut of 'The Horse Running' to the dreamy Balearicisms of 'Swoop', the warm, dubby house of 'Promo Only 1', the 80s Euro vibes of 'Natural Flavor' and beyond...

Being the fourth in their self-titled series, they have once again pulled together a seriously vibrant collection of artists from their ranks, unleashing a collection of 30 outstanding garage originals. The cast of this incredible performance is nothing but quality, with the likes of Soulecta, Tuff Culture, WZA, Smokey Bubblin; B, DJ Jackum, Gemi, FooR, DJQ and more all lending their hand.
