Review: As the title suggests, this quietly impressive compilation draws together the "best bits" of Johannes Kolter's KOLTERCAMP imprint, a digital-only label he's long used as a vehicle for his own productions. In some ways, it feels like an introduction to the Cologne artist's work - or one side of it, at least (he also has the more rugged KOLTRAX series and guest releases on other labels). Highlights include the Alicia Myers-sampling disco-house chunkiness of 'Be Real', the insanely funky, P-funk sampling US house bump of 'Get Sexy', the sun-splashed jazz-house deepness of 'Duke', the effortlessly soulful shuffle of 'Sunny Days' and the spacey deep house wonder that is 'Let You Go'. An impressive collection of Kolter cuts all told.

Review: Veteran DJ and producer Nic Fanciulli lands at Hot Creations with his first original material for the label, the aptly titled "You Sure Do" EP. This two-tracker wastes no time showcasing Fanciulli's ability to craft dancefloor bombs that pay homage to the past while sounding fresh and current. The opening track, "YSD," is a full-on disco-infused house anthem. Fanciulli lays down a foundation of massive basslines and a pounding drum groove, creating an atmosphere guaranteed to get bodies moving. The track isn't just a nostalgic throwback, though. Fanciulli's crisp production and innovative sound design ensure "YSD" feels just as relevant on today's dancefloors. Following up, "We R Bass" takes things in a slightly different direction. Here, pulsating kick drums and sharp snares drive the energy, while warped vocal samples and twisting synths add a layer of intrigue. The track builds to a mesmerizing sonic journey, keeping the listener engaged throughout.

With releases on prestigious labels like Innervisions and his own Survival Tactics, Fussman's innovative productions skirt at the borders of techno and house. Review: Ed Upton has long been one of British dance music's most prolific producers, with his latest album on Hypercolour - the typically vibrant Spiral Dance - marking his 24th full-length excursion as DMX Krew since 1996. Review: Constant Sound is back with more of its constantly good sonics, this time from Dennis Quin who offers up a potent blend of raw minimal, tech and house. 'My Belief' is the sort of cut to get clubs marching as one to the jacked-up drums and whirring synth motifs. 'Hear Dis' has plenty of infectious garage skip to it and 'Eighty Four' layers up slick percussion with bumping drum funk and some nice exotic vocal samples. There will be an all-out party whenever 'Call For House' gets dropped with its wild synth lines and yelling vocals perfect for amping up the crowd.

Moving on, Chicago house maestro Mike Dunn infuses some stylish flair into his take, slowing down the groove, crafting an infectious bassline, and honouring the original's captivating vocals with warehouse style. Review: Award-nominated British producers Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, better known as Camelphat, showcase yet more growth since their last album Spiritual Milk that was filled with emotive lyrics, serene ambient sounds, and infectious basslines. This remix album however opens with a Fideles mix that gets drummy and percussive and very reminiscent to Plastikman's legendary "Spastilk". Oostil throws down an EDM inspired tech house banger mix of "In Your Eyes", while Tigerblind looks to old school rave and hardcore in its remix of "Compute". Lastly Dorian Kraft goes deep and progressive in his mix to "Embers". Keep chewing the Camelphat.

Review: Acid house in sound but punk in nature, the title of Paranoid London's new album is a reference to "the cavalcade of c***s we find ourselves surrounded by". However, while there is despair there is also hope, and this long player is testament to the power of underground music. Arseholes...also demonstrates the importance of collaboration. Bobby Gillespie croons his way through the gentle tones of "People (Ah Yeah)". At the other end of the sonic spectrum, Joe Love and DJ Genesis feature on the gnarly, 303-led grooves of "Love One Self" and "Up Is Down" respectively. Somewhere between these polar opposites sits the evocative Chicago house sound of "Start To Fade" with Josh Caffe and Mutado Pintado's sonorous vocals on the pulsating "The Motion". Paranoid London proves yet again that when confronted by a***holes, music really is the only answer.

Review: Back in the late 1990s, German producers Jorge Henze and Jerome Isma-Ae released a string of now sought-after 12-inch singles as ACME. 'Soul of Life', from 1998, is one of their most in-demand EPs - hence this belated digital reissue. What makes the three-track collection so unique is its incorporation of speed garage (as it was then called) elements alongside contemporaneous house and tech-house sounds. This hybrid sound is best exemplified by the skipping, dubby and glassy-eyed 'Soul of Life I', though the more melodious, deep house influenced 'Soul of Life II' - all saucer-eyed pads, tactile organ riffs and smooth grooves - is almost as impressive. 'Soul of Life III', the EP's final variation, opts for a Grant Nelson style late '90s 4/4 UK garage flex.

Review: This 2024 reissue of an all time and much love classic Raumgleiter by Der Dritte Raum presents an exceptional concept trance album that remains ahead of its time, defying the stigma once and sometimes attached to the genre. Highlighting tracks like "Hale Bopp" and "Polarstern," which made waves in big rooms at the time, the real gem lies in "Lava," transitioning seamlessly from acid builds to progressive trance, which then leads perfectly into "Hale Bopp." Der Dritte Raum's hypnotic beats and catchy melodies went far to transport listeners to other dimensions back in the day, and a fresh 2024 re-up does the same thing- groundbreaking stuff for trance enthusiasts.

Review: The 2024 Ibiza season may seem like it's still a long way off, but not for Get Physical - and seminal label has put together a soundtrack for this year's White Island parties. As its title suggests, Computer Madness' "Traveling To The Planet Rock" is influenced by old school electro - and includes vocodered vocals, a funk bass and wild stabs unravel over rolling 808s. Corbi's "Wave Machine" is also inspired by electro, but on this occasion, acid lines ebb and flow seductively over the undulating groove . OMRI opts for a different approach on "This Is A Test". Based on a low-slung, throbbing bass, its dubby sound effects are nothing short of hypnotic. Trutopia's "Peace" is more sedate, with glacial synths and soulful vocals merged with minimal drums.

Review: Back Again into our House introduces a fresh wave of talent with a classy various artist release delivered in the form of Societe Electronique. Featuring the Brazilian-born Bernards with the dreamy vibes of "It Doing Fusion," Londoner Rupert Ellis delivers power beats and acid in "3Dimension" while label bosses Rypli get vocally tripped-out on "Past Is The Past". Review: It's hard to keep up with the hugely prolific output of UK don Burnski and his several different labels these days but one thing is for sure - Pilot keeps on serving up the goods. For its 15th release, the tech and minimal focussed label welcomes Robin Graham who opens up with the lively and colourful synths of bustling groover 'Check Me Out'. 'Spark Plug' is more business-like, the dry drums and hits overlaid with retro chord stabs that amp up the crowd. 'For You' then gets loose and funky with some twisted and sugar synths over garage-flecked beats, while the refix of 'What's That' offers a jumbled percussive sound full of dynamism.

Review: Returning to Damien Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels label, Jonathan Kaspar presents his latest EP, "We Come", delving into melodic techno realms. With prior contributions to other major indies like Cocoon and Kompakt, Kaspar's signature confidently navigates a big room, dubby trance, and crunchy electro sound with straight up house inspirations. Resisting easy classification, Kaspar weighs up his genres, taking in "Flash Point" as a standout track, with ducking and distortion, plus sidechain, central to the mix here next to some lovely syncopated stabs Additionally, Paul Brenning's rendition of "Transposed Sky" deserves some close attention for its unique flip treatment.
