Review: As the title suggests, this five-tracker from the previously re-edit-happy Editorial imprint showcases slo-mo disco/house crossover cuts from a selection of mostly little-known producers (the fast-rising Matthew Kyle aside). For those who've been digging the superb releases of labels like Sleazy Beats, Wolf Music and Instruments Of Rapture, Slo-Motion Potion comes highly recommended. It's largely impressive stuff, with DJ Butcher's epic "Shake Your Body", Kyle's deliciously sensual "Off My Mind" and 78 Edits' heady opener "Come On Baby" standing out. That said, the whole package is well worth a listen.

Review: The Disco Biscuits EP sees five more jackin' beauties from the musical mind of Adelaide-born DJ and producer Fodera. The heavily filtered sound of the title track is reminscent of Bangalter and Van Helden in their pomp, as a cheeky cinematic sample gets chopped up over a relentless disco beat. "Drive In" is just as essential, mixing old jazz samples with dusted looped vocals to work up a storming house gem akni to vintage Basement Jaxx. A dub is on hand for the jazzier floors. "Hold On" keeps the party going with some deep and driving organ stabs, while "Let It Roll" is hip house meets disco with a rap that work a treat paired with the discofied beats.

Review: The wobble jump up pioneer is on fine, fine form at the moment. Having torn dancefloors apart with the incredible "Busta Move" earlier in '11, Hazard returns with one of his strongest productions since the Machete Mass EP in 2008. The delectable sounds of "Food Fight" have been blazing across the airwaves for the last few months now - expect uproarious bass pressure, spot on sampling, dramatic drops and grouchy, gritty bassline business before flipping over for the equally fabulous "Proteus". Here a tense, ticking intro leads into the creepy movie sampling and swaggering, slouchy bass driven beauty that makes up the main tune. A resounding thumbs up here!

Review: On Eric Estornel's latest outing as Maetrik, the US producer sounds like he's edging into a parallel pop universe. Of course, this is a world entirely constructed by the Valencia-based artist, so on both the title track and "Push Me", Maetrik's hallmark nuances are evident: snappy, tight drums fuel droning, almost atonal basslines and abstract found sounds weave their way in and out of the dense arrangements. However, what's fuelling this push towards potentially greater recognition is the vocal line that sits seductively over the title track. Just how long will it be before we hear Maetrik informing a daytime audience that 'you've got a crush on me'?
