Review: Spektra Recordings is a Spanish electronic music label run by Fernando Cortillo out of sunny Cordoba. It is dedicated to bass music, but their first style is the breaks sound. The label was born in 2008 and they publish music by artists around the world. Their new label compilation is curated by label staple Under Break from Carabaldo (aka Psychopaths). On Under Break & Friends, it is a great way to get familiar with the imprint's current roster of artists and to sample some of their signature beats 'n' breaks. There's some killer steppers on here, we can certainly tell you that much! Highlights include the next level/hyperaware groove of Under Break vs Gallo - "Los Barrios", new signing Alex Wicked who collaborates with him on the pop-inflected EDM of "Blue Melody" and there's quite a few b2b's with Danny Dee - the best being "Your Dead" which nails that classic nu-skool breaks sound of old.
