Review: Iconic anthem alert!! The legendary BT unlocks his genre defining classic 'Flaming June' for Black Hole recordings. First realised back in '97 (for many considered the golden era of trance) and without doubt his biggest ever single, it gets an exciting modern day twist from a plethora of fine talent. Heading up the pack is Paul Van Dyk with a typically well polished production fuelled by a heavy acid line and the famous hooked unleashed in the break. With a melody like this, you can't do much wrong with Gareth Wyn and Fred Baker both adding their subtle styles respectively. Completing the package (and our pick of the bunch) is Anjunadeep duo Jaytech & James Grant.

Review: Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label has really upped the game of late, not just on the main imprint but also the fresher off-shoots such as the more uplifting and full-on Flouro. This debut from UK talent Brian Cameron, is nothing other than pure fire. Soaring synth lines, powerful melodies and thumping beats with shattering acid lines piercing through the soundscaping and lifting the evenrgy even more. This is good ol' fashion uplifitng trance with the clubland vocal from Vinylgroove slapped int he break, and a mad remix from Eshericks that cuts together everything from psy trance to breaks to dubstep.. Review: Shifted's identity remains a mystery, but crucially, he does not come from the small coterie that has dominated UK techno over the past twenty years. Like the signature image he uses, a grey, shadowy creature creeping through a snowy forest, his infiltration of the sound has been stealthy and understated. In many ways, his lack of connection with techno, his automatic outsider status, has allowed him to effect an entrance into a hitherto new terrain. Like his releases on Mote Evolver and his own Avian imprint, Crossed Paths tingles and fizzes with an atmospheric sensibility that monochrome techno often lacks. All of this is made possible by his distinctive sound design; intricate and subtle, yet at the same time both functional and multi-faceted, where all of these divergent paths cross, you'll find Shifted.

Review: Leading on from early releases on Ajunabeats, Dutch duo 16 Bit Lolitas have since moved across to the equally colossal home country Armada camp, both for management and their own label Bits & Pieces. This collection of 10 full length tracks, Is the perfect introduction to the label and their unique progressive sound made famous by tracks like 'Nobody Seems To Care'. Although all on offer here is wicked, it's 'Goodbye Voodoo', 'Bless You' featuring The Funky Bastard, and 'Baby You', which all jump out to us.. Get stuck in this little lot.

Review: Do not panic - Radiohead's "Creep" did not get harmed in the making of this deviously dark EP. In fact Brownz and Requake have proof that no Radiohead album was within a 10 mile vicinity of their mysterious Belgian beat lair. Anyway, who needs mournful rock music when you're pressing all of dubstep's best moody buttons? Three cuts are on offer here; the trio's sparse, stuttering original headlines the set with sharp production prowess while Brownz's own "They Don't Sleep" acts as a fine alternative for earlier, mood-setting slots or deeper mixes. Requake ensures the final chapter in this sonic saga is littered with interesting rhythms and intricate bass layers aplenty thanks to his remix of "They Don't Sleep".

Review: In Trance We Trust revisit Marc Simz' most recent single to present a stack of brand new remixes, which will no doubt fire it back into your peaktime sets. With seven fresh takes on offer it's hard to know where to start, with the label meeting the often failed task of delivering something for everyone. For deeper warm up moods head straight for Tucandeo, while in total contrast Indecent Noise thrash it out with their trademark tech trance power that will blow the roof straight off. Mike Saint-Jules manages to sit somewhere between the two, maintaining all the Original qualities, just with a little more (much needed) umpfh!

Review: The Freestylers take things on an old skool jungle tip here on, aptly enough, the Jungle Cakes imprint. "Entertainer" kicks off with a bounce, a wail of reggae-laced vocal, jungle tooting sirens, and sharp, rolling breaks. It swiftly progresses, with a souped up drop, into a classic latterday jungle riddim with low-slung swagger and lush amens. With plenty of attitude, this is a tune which keeps on giving, with samples, switch ups and all the sounds of 90s jungle. Watch out for the Serial Killaz remix as well, which is an essential addition to the package.

Review: Usually known for D&B on labels such as SGN:LTD and Renegade, Proxima drops his tempos and receives the Tempa treatment. Two huge escapades into time and deep, deep space, title track "Formal Junction" shows Proxima's flare for flux as the rhythm morphs from pensive halfstep to skippy riddim with the help of just one element, and light can be found by the momentary hug from a startling synth. "Grunge", up next, lives up to its name as sludgy textures and strange guttural, digital groans weave their way around the ever-mutating beats and dubbed out rim-shots. Recognise the darkness.

Review: Ninja Tune have assembled a truly exceptional line-up of producers for this full remix album of Bonobo's Black Sands, with exclusives from Duke Dumont, FaltyDL, Machinedrum, Mark Pritchard, Cosmin TRG and Floating Points all shining very bright indeed. With such a stellar cast, highlights abound: Banks' adds a glacial chill to the Andreya Triana-vocalled "The Keeper", Cosmin TRG works "Kiara" into a bubbly and gut-wrenching Detroit fantasy while Floating Points lends a deep, jazz-step vibe to "Eyesdown". In contrast, and in full on hazy-juke mode (ahead of his forthcoming Planet Mu collaborations with Om Unit), Machinedrum kills it with his own steroid-popping mix of "Eyesdown", while Duke Dumont rounds off the album with the exquisite beatless time stretch of "Black Sands". Highly recommended.

Review: Stepping up for the next installment from the pioneering grime, dubstep and funky label Rinse is Royal-T. First up is "Inside The Ride", a rough and ready swinging stepper, with booming bass, funked up 2-step beats and plenty of East End attitude in the bleepy SFX, stabs and snapping snares. "Cool Down" pairs a hypnotic garage rhythm with cooing, silky smooth vocal and pumping dancefloor beats to enormous effect. Another legendary release from the Rinse crew!

Review: Out on N-Type's Wheel & Deal imprint, London duo Soap Dodgers build on their recent support from Skream and Youngsta with these two new tracks. The huge, kuduro-rhythmed "Rachel Went South" is perfect for spinners who like to rise up into the 140bpm zone and proves a very solid worker with some scratchy bleeps and thick kicks keeping every second thrilling. On the flip, the equally sharp "Belly" dips low for a polyrhytmic half-step snare but keeps the adrenaline pumping thanks to plenty of itchy 808 hits and addictive acapella shots.

Review: A new name here on Armada, already gaining support from Armin Van Buuren on his A State of Trance radio show. Which of course makes sense for this EP to be released via his Armada label of the same name. Typically uplifting ASOT fodder that is blasted with acidic lines and a pounding kick drum, while the gentle flickers of piano, pads, and synth gradually build to a one of the most euphoric breakdowns we have heard in some time. This will take you back to the golden era of big room trance.. and what a lovely place to be that is!

Review: Swindle brings us "Ignition" on his own label. Blending boogie and soul flavours with power dubstep, this is an ingenious mix of flavours that must be beheld to be believed. The title track sees him team up with Footsie & Nadia Suliman for a whomping, low-slung number with swaggering b-line and halfstep lumber, lyrics laid lucidly over the top. "Ringworm" is a more synth-laden outing with a Joker circa "Purple City" style element and echoing beats, before "Out Of The Blue (feat. Stinkahbell)" rounds things off with a Rustie style whirr of synths and belching of bass.
