Review: This new second edition of the already iconic 'Breaks, Steps & Bass' series from All Colours is very much what the doctor ordered, unveiling a frankly awesome 15 track showcasing, giving numerous different artists an exciting platform to showcase what they do best. The varying styles of this project are what make it immediately special, from the trippy pad curls of Qant's 'The Instruments' original, to the jungle-inspired drum sweeps and reese runs of Charla Green's 'Something Like Love' and of course the old school bass warps of 'Round The Corner' from Zak Smif. There are so many high points to choose from, but for our top two picks, the pure euphoria of Sharpson's epic '2 U' original, along with the old school blippy steppers feel of Sir Rah's wicked 'Close Encounters' original. Top top stuff!

Review: Captain Mustache's return to Kompakt with The Super Album marks a triumphant reunion with the label after his 2021 single "Everything" - and other releases for Bordello A Parigi, Permanent Vacation and Bedrock. This talented French producer in recent editions has collaborated with luminaries like Chicks on Speed, Arnaud Rebotini, to even Amanda Lear - with the album taking on a super voyage of its own. From the poetic club banger "About Love" to the deep techno pulsations of "Laser Me", The Super album combines a dancefloor-focused narrative, delving into electro, driving techno, with moments of melancholic beauty that include the arpeggios of "Everything" and the Dopplereffekt-inspired "Galaxian Symbiosis." Review: When it comes to celebratory, life-affirming musical positivity, you can't beat Midnight Riot's ongoing "Disco Made Me Do It" compilation series, which gathers together a mixture of re-edits, reworks and original productions from the label's vast roster of artists. At 24 tracks deep it's a bit of an epic, though we can happily confirm that the quality threshold remains impressively high throughout. Our current favourites include the Redux Inc re-edit of Casa Blanco's P-funk flavoured hip-wiggler, "Funk & Dub With You", the rushing, piano-powered house bounce of "Got Me" by Ladies on Mars, label boss Yam Who's sparkling nu-boogie revision of Phil Jaimes' "My Sensitivity" and the deep, groovy '80s soul flex of Chevals' "Thank You For The Ride".
