Air Guitar
Air Guitar (Ultra Music Festival Anthem) - (6:14) 131 BPM
Review: The subject of intense discussion since early airings last December, Afrojack chose Ultra to really hammer this new anthem home and it's been on repeat ever since. "Air Guitar" is a dynamic stomper that builds from an infectious, stripped back rhythm to a deep, driving bassline to an outrageous, full-flavoured riff by way of a dreamy breakdown. A heady injection of instant chaos, Afrojack is on firing form right here.

Pursuit - (4:07)
Played by: Dave Clarke
Review: Not the most prolific of artists, but when this Frenchman releases something, attention is required. From his Turbo treats to his Bromance beats, every track he conjures up is a rich, alluring web of synthetic goodness. This latest composition is one of his most paranoid pieces to date; it's one long ominous acid line. All sludgy and slo-mo it promises to take your floor to some dark, dark places. Comes complete with one of the most spooky videos we've seen in a while too...

Without You
Without You - (4:06) 120 BPM
Review: Two of electronic music's biggest tickets collaborate, and every switch that's ever been invented in the history of switches has been flipped. Soft, emotive and rich in melody, Dillon's usual moombahton madness is tamed and TEED's leftfield subversions have been reigned in: "Without You" is nothing but a lush, languishing trance-tinged workout laced with TEED's soul stirring falsettos. Group hugs on the dancefloor guaranteed.

Truffle Pig - (6:07) 128 BPM Hot
Review: An electrifying winter warmer AND a cool title about pigs? Mr Trash, you're spoiling us! Last month saw a release on Axtone and a massive overhaul of Digitalism, now this... A level peaking stomper that rises and rises until an almighty, dreamy drop sweeps you clean off your feet. An epic build up and major pay off follow, making this one of Tommy's most devastating club tracks yet. Let's pig out on this!

All Night Long
All Night Long (Darth & Vader mix) - (6:03) 128 BPM Hot
Review: It's an all Brazilian affair and a meeting of like-minded electro heads on this new release on Bugeyed. Felguk's 2008 hit "All Night Long" gets a reinvention from upcoming duo Darth & Vader, who have recently been bumped by Armin Van Buuren and Tim Healey amongst others. Constructing a Sebastian/Justice-like groove from parts of the original, the pair also arrange slowly-enveloping bass licks around the tune whilst preserving the vocodered vocal shots and the epic, proggy builds and drops. Simply a huge tune - electro doesn't get much bigger than this.

Inside Me (Bassjackers remix) - (6:22) 128 BPM Hot
Review: When we look back at the past few years, it's impossible to pick out one tune from the Woodsman which is anything other than brilliant. from 'Advanced' and 'Monotone' to more recent 'Champagne Dream'. The latest High Contrast sleeve with his name across the top is due to a wicked new remix of last years 'Inside Me' from Tiesto favourite Bassjackers. Who sympathetically inject a little more attitude and grit than the Original, with the standout male vocal still intact.. This is big!!

Rinse Out (Fuzzy Hair & Fancybeat elektrofunk mix) - (3:55) 126 BPM Hot
Review: A peak time roller here in the shape of Fuzzy Hair and Fancybeat's electro funk remix of "Rinse Out". Featuring an odd but addictive mix of electro horns, funk riff and a memorable vocal snatched from a well-known movie (we won't ruin the surprise), it's pure dancefloor fire - and damn fun to boot.

Review: An upcoming American producer who's already shared stages with Skrillex, D.I.M and Switch, Jake Carpenter's The Chaotic Good alias offers up the dirty thrills of "Don't Stay Home" this week on Dirty Fabric. Trackster - (5:17) 128 BPM
Review: Another very impressive release on Plasmapool from Miles Dyson, following up last year's "I-Tune" release with another storming electro single. Taking no prisoners, Dyson feeds huge trance stabs, sub-worrying bass hits and some big room drums into "Trackster" and tops it all off with some ear-splitting synth builds that are guaranteed to rinse out any dancefloor it comes in contact with.

Hypnotika Mandolina (Premium Sprakling vocal mix) - (7:45) 125 BPM Hot
Played by: Marko De La Rocca
Review: No prizes for guessing the lead instrument on this new tune from Versuz Essentials... The Balkan Brothers make the humble mandolin a lead instrument that's able to dominate a dancefloor on this mainroom house smasher - devilishly pitch-shifting it into oblivion at one point as part of an enormous build-up. Thankfully avoiding Greek wedding-cheese or any kitsch Balkan-isms, it's actually a greatly satisfying and very quirky winner.

Hump Rock
Hump Rock (original mix) - (4:48) 130 BPM Hot
Review: A one-off release from the Plumps, "Hump Rock" sees the electro-breaks duo absolutely destroy Billy Squier's classic "Big Beat" - the sample behind Dizzee Rascal's "Fix Up..." and, only a few decades earlier, Run-DMC's "Live At The Funhouse". "Hump Rock" breathes a gale of life into it though - bit-crushing, looping and generally rinsing it out with some gnarled bass thrown in too. Heavy and very, very fun stuff.

I Need (original mix) - (6:37) 126 BPM Hot
Review: Already proving to be a staple in sets from big name electro heads such as Herve, AVH, 2ManyDJs, Zinc and the Bloody Beetroots, "I Need" is a triumph from Aussie-born, London-dwelling duo The Loops Of Fury. Anyone who heard the enormous "Rack 'Em" from last year will get the gist straight away - slowly rising electro leads jiggle between huge drums and Sebastian-styled funk bass shots, while a sly and pitched-up Motown vocal sample ushers in a breakdown of astral pads and even a brief drop of the Amen break as well. It's got it all, and it's no surprise that so many heavyweight DJs are rinsing this one hard at the moment.

Review: Jamie seems to like flinging out these one-track specials on Flak. Good for him! Why clutter the release with remixes when the original packs enough punch to knock out parties from now to 2092. Electro-swing a-go-go, this is an unapologetic joy ride fun town with all the horn parps, squidgy bass burps and weird, trippy glitches you'd expect to see along the way. True Garage - (5:41) 126 BPM
Review: Banging original material from LBF Project sees Above Sound deliver this True Garage single. Keeping it stripped back and space pop percussive in its intro, it's a undeniable bassline that sets the tone. With hats and symbols cutting across the place, cosmic pongs add to a bevy of classic house keys, starry synths and pads that at moments reflect the Mortal Kombat theme - no joke. Allow for some class instrumentals, deft musicianship and tight sequencing, you got a straight up tune bruv.

Vengeance (Sharmelfunk remix) - (5:22) 122 BPM
Played by: Actual Sounds
Review: There are 16 different words to mean "Vengeance" according to this Italian duo. Funny that; all you need is one; damn funky! Sorry, that's two. Here are a whole load more... A deep, throbbing bass-driven rock/break hybrid, this addictive hip-swinger has got that an almost Laid Back feel but with heaps of added guitar. With a steady, head-nodding groove this struts with European class. For a slightly wonkier, more bass-addled version, head for the equally satisfying remix from Sharmelfunk. Fans of Adam Freeland's later work will definitely identify with this.

Navajo (feat Drop Top) - (4:48) 129 BPM Hot
Breaking Bad (feat Jony Tevez) - (5:20) 127 BPM
Review: Now here's an interesting business proposition... Find some zombies, find a buyer, sell the zombies, get some money. No doubt there's a lot of legal ramifications to endure but if it works for Navajo and Drop Top, it works for us too. Naturally this track acts as a great zombie selling theme tune; the sprightly high-end riff notating your every transaction, bleep and screaming as you get busy on the cash register. With cool snippets taken from George Krantz "Din Daa Daa" and short-but-powerfully sweet drop, this is yet another fine DJ tool from Drop The Lime's ever-reliable Trouble & Bass imprint.

Review: Could Missy Elliot be THE most bootlegable female rapper of all time? Quite possibly! And good for her; she's graced many a sick bassline... But few as sick as the rampant fidget-style slab of warbling dancefloor drama that is "Finish Dis Line". Armed with a bass lick that can't help but make you grin foolishly, this guarantees dancefloor business. Meanwhile on track two, Tin Dog ups the ante several notches with the high-speed romp that is "Outcast". Imagine if Herve released a juke track on Cheap Thrills and you're kind of in the right area. Strictly peaktime shizzle.

Jungle Blood (Harry Romero & Erick Morillo Dirty Blood mix) - (5:38) 126 BPM Hot
Jungle Blood (Plastik Funk remix) - (5:22) 128 BPM
Review: Morillo and his crew are on a serious roll right now. Reminding everyone of their demonstrative house legacy, every single Subliminal release has killed it this year. The second instalment of March's massive "Jungle Blood" is no exception. Morillo and Romero's Dirty Blood mix is especially interesting; looking to UK's chubby bass speed garage sound, it's a deep, dark underground bubbler that barely references the original. Looking for something closer to the source? Plastik Funk's remix takes the acid licks and hype-heaving peaks of the original and presents them in a dramatic synth-horn format that wouldn't go amiss on Mad Decent. Huge.

The Intruders - (6:08) 120 BPM
Review: Following their epic "Crash" and "Electronic Warfare" packages, Carretta and Workerpoor team up and don their robovox suits once again. "Intruders" is reminiscent of LFO back in their most incendiary form, all hooky, paranoid and pummelling. "Believe The Machine" is darker again; with screaming siren leads and face-tugging warped bass slurs, it stomps with spiky techno tenacity. Essential - especially if you've been enjoying Neosignal's output this year.

Review: Nhato's first new material since his Etude album, both "Eureka" and "Past & Then" remind us of just how unique this Japanese artist's creations are. Fusing trance with electro and funky house, it's a winning formula for all concerned. " Eureka" jumps and jostles with cool glitch-inspired synth flurries, sizzling bass and an almost jazz-like twist to the middle melody section. "Past & Then" ups the ante once again with a chorus of old school stabs and an uncompromising EDM bass riff. Screaming nothing but peak time, Nhato is on exceptional form right here.

Casting Shadows (feat Tali) - (3:45) 138 BPM Hot
My Love (feat Tali - Bro Safari rmix) - (5:25)
Played by: Jack Stat, Winter
Review: Emphatic radio-friendly, live set-ready, woozy, emo-dubstep. Think Gemini. Think Nero. Think 'get your ruddy lighters up'. With vocal duties delivered by well known D&B songstress MC Tali this is authentic as it gets. And has potential to be a massive end of night finale. Elsewhere on the release we find another Tali-plated platter as "My Love" gets remixed by Bro Safari to great effect. It starts all deep and pristine - somewhere between Hed Kandi and NRK - before befilthing itself with a disgusting bassline. A great transitional tune for house DJs who want to switch up to the rude stuff in true style.

Arym - (4:53) 126 BPM
Review: Brodinski and Manu Barron's stupendously cool Bromance imprint gets even cooler with a rare banger from Jacques Lu Cont. Now found behind the controls for the likes of Madonna, Jacques shows he still harbours the dancefloor brute with the happy-slapping jack attack "In The Night". Loaded with wallet-tight 808 percussion and acid house sensibilities, it's like he never went away. Monsieur Monsieur's "Arym" is equally as effective thanks to its epic build and well weighted drop. Two absolute electro smashers: if you're not feeling the Bromance, you probably don't have a heart.

Review: The founder of Midlands bass institution Stealth summons the spirit of a million parties with this high energy romp. Stomping with a ruthless, percussive 4/4, it's all about the bassline that warps and wails so hard it turns itself inside out. Jordan's executed the vocal loop really well, too, making it a percussive feature that builds the tune to silly levels of insanity. Remix-wise Rebel Sonix flips the switch for a Miami bass glitch workout, giving it a whole new suit of slo-mo arms. Win, indeed.

Review: You've got to love Firepower for their distinct iconography on each release. Matching the sharp focus of the music, their trademark technicolour bass terror is evident in every aspect of their releases. "Bangladesh" is one of a kind; taking a classic tabla and distinctive rapid chant vocals there's an incessant groove which maintains a certain level of unruly funky, no matter how hard the bass gets. "Trippy" takes us much more of a cosmic journey. There's still a whole load of low-end riff mischief, but it's backed with the largest synth hook this side of the cosmos.

Dappy (Kill Frenzy's Omg remix) - (6:09) 126 BPM
Review: Don't worry, "Dappy" isn't an ode or homage to N-Dubz' ratty frontman. In fact it couldn't be further from Dappy's cheesy UK grime-lite if it tried. Romping away with a resonant warbling bass and unrelenting 4/4 stomp, it's an ultimate buzz cut that doesn't sound too far away from a Dirtybird record. Remix-wise Belgian ghetto-groover Kill Frenzy pitches down the vocal sample and adds much more of a haunted flavour to the groove. Either version is dark enough to send Dappy crying to his dear old mum.

Review: New artist alert! Circus Records welcome Mizuki to their fast-growing family of bass aficionados and this time we're in for a serious blend of beats and subs. The title track is a grinding half-stepper packed with enough grit to have your jaw fall off in pure euphoria and boasts a ridiculously funky bassline for an electro/dubstep hybrid. Last heard on his Backbeat single for Kitsune, he's now back at home on T&A with a brand new two-tracker. Review: In case the clue in "Jericho's" title isn't enough, this takes one of rave's most distinctive, spine-shuddering horn samples and takes it kicking and screaming into the electro future. Coupled with a nagging staccato high end riff, pulverising beats and slick-chat-toasting from Million Dan, it's a whole new look for THE most hair-raising horn sample ever to grace our dancefloors. Review: Hands up who loves switch flipping! Well you're in for a treat... "1975" starts off as deep, stripped back groove with a strange spoken word bassline. Then BANG: a full fuel acid bassline bombards the mix, bringing a whole series of trippy additional noises with it. Review: Originally from Chicago but now resident in LA, Alex Kidd gives shouts out to his adopted city on this new two-track release via Crude Trax. The title track walks the line between hypey electro and smoothed-out funky mainroom influences nicely - keeping the bass and drums heavy but not so they get in the way of the gleaming pads and shiny synth stabs that let the track launch. Nicely rearranging parts from the original 1992 version into a more tech'd up, wigged out progressive jam, Adamski doesn't disappoint - despite the fact that he's replaced Seal's original parts with an all new vocal. Review: A true meeting of kindred electro spirits, as San Diego's Harvard Bass and Holland's Bart Bmore join forces for this awesome new double-track release. You'd expect their individual skills in making incendiary dance music might result in an over-the-top orgy of bass, bleeps and beats, but on "The Funky One", they actually restrain themselves well - dropping a building banger that marries a short funk sample with ever-climbing Dutch leads and a pared-down but addictive beat. Review: Having dropped sophisticated electro bombshells since 2010 that have been welded into the sets of 2manydjs, Tiga, Erol Alkan and Crookers, Belgian duo Mumbai Science return in style with this EP. Part 1 of the release boasts "Researchers" - a typically tight, acid-influenced belter with a touch of Kraftwerk melody and old-school electro drums on the echoey fills. "Willow" builds with a crunchy, Mumbai Science/Boys Noize-styled acid lead line before smoothly breaking down into a John Carpenter-esque set of doomy choir stabs that get looped into armageddon for a mighty drop. Their output as producers is just as prolific, and these two bangers out on Heavy Artillery will hit the spot if you crave a good dose of chunky, bleeped-out electro. Check out the brilliant switch into baile funk beats on Pump Up The Bass, or the heavy heavy bass on Higher!

Jookie
Jookie - (5:43) 129 BPM
Centavo (original mix) - (4:56) 130 BPM Hot
Review: Only 22 but already a major player in global electro, Foamo builds on his growing reputation with "Jookie". Following his mixes of La Roux, Diplo and Laidback Luke, a huge collaboration with Lee Mortimer (not to mention last year's "Wardance" single), "Jookie" has blaring horns, high pitched wobble and some huge rises that work up to one of the biggest things he's ever done. Just as huge is "Centavo" which combines a tropical-house beat with some delicious low-end business. A perfect double-tracker from a man taking huge strides with every release.

Right This Minute - (6:50) 135 BPM
Review: Two cheeky bootleg numbers from the Cut & Run team, with Martin Solveig and Dragonette's "Hello" getting a breaks makeover with some chunky kicks and snares on "Hello", while Deadmau5's "Right This Second" gets a similar sweaty breaks rerub on "Right This Minute".

Tight
Tight - (3:25) 128 BPM
Tight (Etienne De Crecy remix) - (5:04) 128 BPM Hot
Review: An artist whose releases never fail to excite and dazzle in equal measure, Zombie Nation undergoes a bit of a change of "Tight" - stripping back the heavy synths he's become synonymous with and instead using lush disco string loops as the backbone, all smothered, chopped and pitch-shifted Mr Oizo-style around dry, Fake Blood-ish drums. Arranged in a similar way to Thomas Bangalter's seminal edit of Mehdi's "Signature", the secret is all in the fast, frenetic chopped samples, something that Etienne De Crecy dispenses with on his mix, which thanks to the low, menacing synth-line running throughout, ends up weirdly sounding more ZM-like than ZM on this release! Two definite bangers though - expect both to get rinsed by electro royalty in the coming months.

Girl At A Party With Siren
Girl At A Party With Siren (Preacherman version) - (5:03) 125 BPM
Girl At A Party With Siren (Dub Version) - (5:24) 125 BPM Hot
Review: Jesper Dahlback + Tiga + a spoken word sample of a spangled American rave kid = "Girl At A Party With A Siren". A brilliant addition to Turbo's stuffed roster of quirky techno genius sees the duo combine under Tiga's new part-time moniker for this ode to losing it on the dancefloor. With a typically off-kilter, warped acid kit and unexpected bleeps piercing the song, the pair structure things beautifully - interspersing the vocal sample with subtle breakdowns and not-so-subtle crowd cheering sound effects.

Bromance #1 - Single
Gesaffelstein - "Control Movement" - (5:56) 126 BPM Hot
Brodinski - "Let The Beat Control Your Body" (feat Louisahhh!) - (5:11) 126 BPM
Review: Hot on the heels of his first Fabriclive mix release, French bass titan Brodinski notches up his label's first release with this split single featuring one of 2011's biggest breakthrough techno artists, Gesaffelstein. Similar to his huge releases for Turbo, Gesaffelstein keeps an incredible tightness and power in his beats ,which this time carry an enormous reverbed ghost vocal which is chopped, stuttered, reversed and messed with in about a thousand incredible ways in just over five minutes. Brodinski also plays on a straight-up tech tip too with the smooth yet hugely addictive "Let The Beat Control Your Body", which benefits from some commanding looped vocals from Louisahhh.

Lick The Spoon (remixes) Part 1
Lick The Spoon (Funkanomics vocal remix) - (3:05) 115 BPM Hot
Lick The Spoon (Rory Hoy remix) - (4:31) 128 BPM
Review: Originally released on Freshly Squeezed, erstwhile Soul Of Man partner (and awesome graphic artist) Jem Stone teamed up with Foxy Cheex to give us the steamy, sultry "Lick The Spoon" exactly a year ago. Now updated in remix-form, both Funkanomics and Rory Hoy give it a brand new wardrobe... The former goes deep into nu funk mode with a sleazy groove and grizzly bass textures while the latter gets jiggy on a skank-wise big beat format. Party time in both directions, once you've licked this spoon clean you'll be raiding the cutlery draw.

Rattlesnake - (4:09) 132 BPM Hot
Burning & Stealing - (4:33) 128 BPM
Played by: Dev79, DJ SOULJA-MAN
Review: This latest instalment of Trouble & Bass' series of exclusives sees man of the moment Samo Sound Boy take the helm - dropping two newies that'll reinforce his standing as one of America's hottest electro-rave producers. "Rattlesnake" is straight-up huge: a menacing mix of Dutch house-style bleep leads that ride the octaves over a switching set of tropical kicks. "Burning and Stealing" goes in for a more jacking, post-Chicago flavour, using heavily reverbed soul vocals and filtered horns to create something highly unique and constantly surprising.

Time To Change
Time To Change (part 1) - (5:16) 128 BPM
Time To Change (part 2) - (5:02) 128 BPM Hot
Played by: Angela Fisken
Review: Upcoming Belgian producer Highbloo is clearly a name to watch if his third EP, Time To Change, is anything to go by. Spreading the gonzoid electro goodness over two parts, "Part 1" sees a vicious, Crookers-esque baroque arpeggio laid out over many shifting octaves, hyped-drums and even an incredible, slow tempo-drop midway through. "Part 2" is golden too: a Daft Punk-ish use of a disco sample combined with a vicious rising synth all arranged with devilish, rave-friendly abandon.

Baguette - (5:04) 127 BPM Hot
Review: A huge double-tracker from Dutchmen Mightyfools that's already got support from Ettienne de Crecy, Larry Tee and Shinichi Osawa amongst others. With some corrosive basslines, enormous electro drums, peak-hour builds and an MC egging you along every step of the way, "That's The Shit" is a big big tune and with the glitched-out rave-steppin' "Baguette" on the flip, this is a single not to be missed.
