Review: Oliver Ho's Death & Leisure is back after some bold editions from the likes of his own Broken English Club project and London newcomers Years Of Denial. For this release, the inimitable Karl O'Connor returns for some pitch black/post punk shenanigans but this time shrugging off his more renown alias, Regis, for a new collaboration with Minimal Wave's Veronica Vasicka. Their project Kiss The Floor presents the pulsating no wave reinterpretation of "This Desire", all gritty NYC attitude. On the flip we, O'Connor returns to his his own diffusion project Karl & The Curbcrawlers with "Same Day (Again)". This is his second appearance, interestingly enough, since 2001's Exist compilation on Ho's short lived experimental label of the same name.

Review: It was late 2016 when M.RUX's In The Hold EP was released on YNFND. The cult label from Rostock now returns with six handcrafted remixes. The result is a record as diverse as it is seemingly endless in its intricacy. The integrity of the original field recordings and samples remain intact, while each of these downtempo tracks bares the signature sound of each remixer. The label boss has assembled an enviable troupe of friends and lovers from all corners of the globe. There are appearances by Brazil's Pigmaliao, San Francisco based Nonagon and the pan-Atlantic duo History of Colour: featuring El Buho and Barrio Lindo. There's also Ninze's off-kilter afterhour excursion, Irishman in Berlin Peter Power's warped acid wobble and the creeping/crawling arrangement by RLHBSLCN.

Review: The Voodoo Rebel label fluctuate across all varieties of 'bass', and this new release from the enigmatic DES is no exception. In fact, Milan/Florence has the characteristic of never sticking to one formula for too long; there is an abyss in terms of styles and influences between the waves of the title tune, and the looser, more tribalistic patterns of "Ramen & Churches". The Motin remix of the lead tune takes the original down more worldly paths thanks to a flurry of Eastern melodies and twangs, while Boogaloo & Bizt throw down a completely different sort of bass nugget that has something very UK about it. PrP's version of "Ramen & Churches" is our favourite tune on here, its hazy flutter of distant bass trumpets working their magic on us good and proper. Big up!

Review: Strobocop's Cologne-based Karaoke Kalk continues its seemingly never-ending run of form with this beautiful - and no doubt soon to be underrated - LP from Finnish sound engineer, Hannu Karjalainen. Much drone or ambient is released in this day and age, but how much of it is alluring? Does it ever leave you with something lasting? Well, Hannu's music certainly does because there is never a doubt in our minds that the artist is trying to do something different. For real, though. A Handful Of Dust In A Desert is not an easy album to describe or categorise, and that is exactly the reason for why it feels so relevant. Its abundance of drones are elegantly placed throughout, often leaving the listener with thick walls of sound that meander across the room like fluid beams of light. It's a heady experience, and that's exactly what we love about it. 10/10.

Review: It hasn't taken DJ and producer Trudge very long to establish a name for himself around the house blocks, and this latest appearance on Paul P and Lauren C's London-based Of Paradise label feels like right move at the right time for both artist and imprint. Much like the rest of this young catalogue, "Memorial For A Buried Hope" staggers to a rough analogue house groove that's been built from the ground up, and with the likes of AFX very much in mind. "Sad But Necessary" takes a similar sort of aesthetic to build its experimental groove, except here the beat has been torn to shreds and replaced with something a lot more UK-centric; it is followed by an awesome power breaks slowed down to a reasonable house tempo through "Drop", while "And I'm Losing My Mind Again" really does feel like AFX's territory thanks to a wacky, off-the-wall blast of jungle breaks.

Review: We have been very impressed with the output of Glome Sound over the last six months, a label that refuse to abide by the norms of electronic music, always looking to expand the boundaries in style. This new four tracker from Flaw does just that as we kick off with the high energy breaks and colourful rhythmic inputs of the title track 'Link', before the more progressive, rolling composition of 'Talk' wades into play. To round off the originals, we take a taste of 'Fela', an uber groovy percussive masterpiece, perfect for a summertime lounge. On remix duty, Mulengasound arrives for a glittering remake of the title track 'Link', supplying a great contrast for the project as a whole.
