Review: Next up on Coyu's label is a compilation that really lives up to its title. _Power starts and finishes with tracks from GLIA - the grungy, vocal-led "2x Gola" and the eerie, stepping "Laws Of Physics And Karma" - while on "External Body" Marina George lays down a tough acid track. The compilation moves a few notches in the intensity levels with Ana Lilia's pounding "In Too Deep" and the wild ghetto stomp of Zaphy's "Wein". However, _Power never strays into senselessly banging territory and Rouge delivers a superb, ebm-style workout on "Prism" and Cora's "Exit" is a linear tribal track that resounds to lean, steely percussion.

Aggregate - (5:02) 125 BPM
Osmium - (6:05) 127 BPM Hot
Herschel - (6:04) 123 BPM
Review: Ostgut's sister label continues its voyage into the grey area between the abstract and the main floor with a release that may come to be merely known as 'hyphens'. While not completely forsaking the dance floor, "Contact", is all dark drones and shattered glass percussion riding the dark backing rhythm, while "Aggregate" veers back towards club usage with its hammering drums, razor sharp percussion and concrete beats. "Osmium" also shows that there is more common ground between the abstract and the dance floor with filtered percussion and acidic bass licks providing all of the action, before "Herschel" dips back into the abstract with dreamy synths and breathy vocals underpinned by subtle broken beats.

Bon Voyage - (6:40) 175 BPM
Review: The one and only Seba returns once again with new sparring partner Jr Vallo. Last spotted on Fokuz and soon-to-appear on Spearhead together, here we find them going toe-to-toe on Seba's ever-essential Secret Operations. "-15" is a first class ticket to the furthest corners of the cosmos on a bumpy rocket that's so barbed and dangerous you may find it's a one-way trip. Fittingly the second track is titled "Bon Voyage". Less drama and more introspection but loaded with similar sci-fi sentiments, listen and hear as a Good Looking universe unfolds before your very ears. Beautiful - as always from Secret Ops.

Equinox - (4:52) 174 BPM
Tyrant - (4:30) 174 BPM
Review: Starting the EP with ther hard hitting, bouncing dancefloor destroyer "Koodana", the melody and heavily mutated bass pleasingly echo each other, the track feels intense and captivating, the vocal is demanding us to 'jump' but we already are. 'Cowabunga' is a noisy, high pitched snap shot of exactly where jump up is today, the jabbing synths will smash the floors with no question. Our favourite track of the sampler has got to be 'Equinox', which showcases Levela's deeper side, using shinier, softer sounds which twinkle against the spiritual moans and the warm pulsating bassline. 'Tyrant' brings us back to the Levela we know with the twisting, bassline taking centre stage, decorated with aggressive and eerie elements and a horror show vox. We're looking forward to the full EP.

Review: Having demonstrated the breadth of his artistic vision with the excellent One Against Time album last year, John Dimas returns to Half Baked with a focused EP of dancefloor heaters that keep the vibe varied but the beats ever-present. "5putn1k" is a cheeky, boxy workout with plenty of swing and some wriggling bassline flex. "@L5d" takes a trippier route through spaced out synth lines and a subliminal rhythm section for maximum lock-in, and then "5p@c3 T@lk" heads skywards with a gorgeous tapestry of melodious expression strapped to a rock-solid groove. "@rkyn" completes the set with a snagging 2-step funk and plenty of the space in the mix for the meditative crew to get all eyes-closed to.

Review: !K7 Records launches a new compilation series entitled Kollections: Club which inaugurates the project. The tracklist features artists of the partner labels under the !K7 umbrella such as Turbo, AUS Music, Mobilee, Mister Saturday Night and Hypercolour. Each edition explores a different musical theme but this first installment, naturally, is all about the club! Highlights here include Midland's recent hit "Blush", Maya Jane Coles' funky afterhours tech house jam "Not Listening" (from a few years ago), KiNK's roaring remix of Kerrier District's (Luke Vibert) "Techno Disco" and Lauer's recent feelgood number "Killian" showing off his knack for classic retro vibes like no other.

Review: "!Kollections" banner. Each focuses on a certain aspect of the long-running label's vast back catalogue. The fourth edition, for example, focused on disco. "Reflections", the latest volume, is not as tight stylistically and instead gathers together tracks that tend towards the deep, poignant, beautiful and melancholy. There are many treats amongst the 27 showcased selections, with highlights including an impeccable chunk of string-laden downtempo pop from DJ Tennis and Fink, a dreamy slice of loved-up house warmth from Lone, the bustling, dream house era Mediterranean holiday memories of Mugwump's "God is Gracious" and the thrusting, big room-friendly late night hypnotism of Dubfire's "Dust Devil".

Review: Some 12 months after Uffe's sophomore album No! wowed critics and consumers, Tartelet have decided to offer up a freshly re-worked version. Having assembled a crack team of remixers, it's little surprise to find that the resultant five-tracker is really rather good. For club plays, we'd recommend the sensual, organic sounding deep house hypnotism of the Adams No Trust remix of "Next To You" and Max Graef and Glenn Astro's impeccable rework of "The Fact", which recasts the track as a bass-heavy chunk of deep-space jazz-funk. Elsewhere, Falty DL goes deep, woozy and intergalactic on his sublime, hard-to pigeonhole mix of of "You Seem Happy" and Paxton Kettel joins the dots between '80s electrofunk, swinging jazz and lolloping deep house on his standout take on "Jump Into".

It follows previous records with Trusted Meds and Light On Earth. For a quicker, hi NRG take on house elements check out the looped twang of "Jesus Pierre" while get your electro and Italo fix from "Too Much Zbrif". Chicago ghetto house hits the fore in "This Bitch" with Hyas bringing the EP back to a sweaty clubzone in "Trauma Post Traumatique" that throws in a pinch of UKG, partaaay!

Review: In a career spanning almost three decades, Pittsburgh's veteran producer Shawn Rudiman still continues to impress after all this time. He is back on his esteemed Pittsburgh Tracks with .. The Next Planet Over - which follows up last year's tremendous lontimeg player Timespan. A consistent producer throughout his time on the scene, this one is no exception so expect some energetic and unaduleterd analogue soul - as heard on the hypnotic minimalist bounce of "Works On Paper". The pounding, heads-down affair that is "Last Light On" is perfect for those strobed-out moments, while the hi-tech emotions of "Switching Rails" calls to mind the timeless vibe of second wave Detroit - that had all old-school nostalgists like us getting our groove on! Top release.
