Chauhattar - (8:06) 136 BPM Hot
Pachattar - (5:53) 138 BPM
Chihattar - (5:47) 136 BPM
Review: Following their collaboration on his 2022 album, Patanjali, Berlin-based techno producer Amotik teams up again with Tina Ramamurthy. "Chauhattar" resounds to robust tribal drums and a clanging bass, with mysterious vocal samples woven into the arrangement. On "Pachattar", the approach is deeper, with more understated kicks providing the basis for repetitive, tripped out loops. While the Amotik series is typically focused on dance floor techno, this fourteenth instalment also sees the duo explore a more esoteric sound with "Chihattar". Based on a gentle, undulating groove and dreamy, soft-focus textures, it also features stream of consciousness vocals throughout the effortless arrangement.

Review: The fast-rising hard techno DJ/producer Anetha drops Mothearth, her debut album. As anyone who has heard her play out will confirm, tracks like "Terraphoria" and "Hit No Parade" capture her ability to deliver killer club grooves, with her own unique twist. She is also adept at delivering deeper cuts - as the atmospheric trance dance of "Beauty of Nothing" attests. Anetha's sense of playfulness bubbles to the surface on "Sorry for Being So Sexy", where angelic vocals are fused with hardcore stabs. Remaining on the subject of rave music, Anetha makes the sound her own on the title track, where she combines pensive vocals with spellbinding melodies to forge a unique new sound.

Review: The future of Argy has arrived in the Afterlife. With a strong connection to the platform of late with albums and releases like Tataki, Pantheon and Aria next to the collaborative gem Higher Power - Argy has officially arrived. With this album in particular pitched as the artist's magnum opus, New World proves to be a fusion of human emotion inter-mixed with and AI innovation. Going large for those Afterlife sets no doubt, a techno futuristic and modern melodic Argy sends in 14 large scale tracks for the stadium space - ie "No One's Coming" and "Higher Power" - to the bad ass vampire acid in "Wilderness" or Juan Atkins Cyberton reflections in Tibet - Rad!

Review: After a flurry of activity in 2023 for Suara, Sleaze and Planet Rhythm, long-established producer Axel Karakasis returns to his own imprint with Source Of Data. Fans of tough, lean techno will find much to love here, particularly "Objective", with its combination of tight claps and powerful, looped bass. But the release also yields surprises by following other paths: "Asphalt" sees Karakasis venture down a Millsian route, guided by dense, visceral kicks and an atmospheric undercurrent. On "Inner Voice" he also pursues a more unconventional approach. While the track is based on tough kicks and a cacophony of nagging percussion, it is also swathed in swirling atmospheric synths.

Review: Vibraphone Records kicks off its 2024 with a mighty release that pays great tribute to the city of Detroit. Basic Realities is the artist behind the originals and the first is 'B-9', a percussive, loopy tech roller with vocal sounds and dreamy pads drifting in and out of focus. Motor City icon Kevin Saunderson then steps up to remix and does so with more warm and surging basslines and thudding drum funk. 'Viento Lunar' cuts loose on some inventive melodies and cosmic rays of energy that unfold over tinny beats and 'Endless Clouds' rounds out with some more dusty drums and nice spangled synths that surge through the cosmos.

Ahyep - (6:03) 148 BPM
Submarine - (5:42) 148 BPM
Review: Benza may be a new producer, but Warrior leaves no doubt that he is a name to watch. The title track revolves around a relentless rhythm and a powerful bass, with eerie samples adding to the sense of drama. "Check Mate" is based on a similar approach. On this occasion, Benza deploys a more swung rhythm, adding muffled vocals and frazzled synth stabs. "Enchanted Breaks" sees Benza ramp up the tempo to deliver a lean, percussive track that exudes funk, while he draws on a different influence for "Ahyep". Channelling ebm influences, he delivers a hard-edged, peak-time banger. The same approach applies on "Submarine", a bruising techno affair.

Deer In The Headlights (dub mix Remaster) - (6:09) 125 BPM
Review: Get Physical Music revives its Classics series with a nostalgic trip into its essential archives, kicking off with Chelonis R. Jones' timeless anthem "Deer In The Headlights" originally released back in in 2005 (19 years ago omg!). Remixed by electronic luminaries DJ Hell and Radio Slave, this reissue breathes new life into Jones' haunting masterpiece. The Dub Mix of "Deer In The Headlights" captivates with its moody, low-slung vibe, while DJ Hell's rendition infuses brain-frying synths and sleazy vocals, echoing his electroclash roots. On the flip, Radio Slave's remix delivers unrelenting techno pressure, with insistent synth loops and dark atmospheres. A solid revival here, this reissue not only appeals to new audiences but also reignites the passion of those who experienced these tracks firsthand, reaffirming their timeless appeal.

Review: Conrad Van Orton drops a diverse, dance floor-focused release for Emerald. The title track is led by a dense, swaggering rhythm and features brooding chords. It makes for an intense, peak-time affair. Both "Overcloud" and "Power Nap" follow a similar approach, but they see Van Orton deploys swirling filters and musical hooks. While these elements are combined with heads down rhythms, they do make for deeper tracks. Spiralling acid lines are to the fore on "Use It Wisely", while Van Orton opts for a different approach with "Wishful Thinking". More stripped back than the other contributions, it's a murky, tribal techno workout.

Jerm - "Kaki" - (4:49) 140 BPM
Review: The latest split release on Analogue isn't designed for the faint-hearted. Dax J's "Ares" gets the EP off to an intense start. Powered by the hardest drums this side of Synewave, there is some relief in the form of the moody house organ that is woven through the arrangement. On "Kal", Kaiser dispenses with musical elements in favour of a relentless tribal rhythm - like a high-paced take on vintage Octave One. Meanwhile, ANFS' "Amete" is centred on a brooding, ebm-style bass and cavernous sound design. Maintaining the same energy but utilising a different approach is Jerm's "Kaki", a pounding rhythm track.

Highlighting tracks like "Hale Bopp" and "Polarstern," which made waves in big rooms at the time, the real gem lies in "Lava," transitioning seamlessly from acid builds to progressive trance, which then leads perfectly into "Hale Bopp." Der Dritte Raum's hypnotic beats and catchy melodies went far to transport listeners to other dimensions back in the day, and a fresh 2024 re-up does the same thing- groundbreaking stuff for trance enthusiasts.

Review: This latest helping of futuristic goodness from the Top Drawer Digital team sees them dive into their third full length compilation drop, once again expanding the 'Abstractions' series with a solid helping of new school breakbeat flavour. Featuring 36 creations, this selection is a DJ's secret weapon for certain, with the likes of Kefford, Sub Fusion, Outrage, Sanxion, S.U.R.E and Nyxen alongside many more delivering top quality additions to the track listing. For us, this is a project best absorbed through the attached continuous DJ MIX, but our standouts would have to include the brain-boggling wave synth work of The Rumblist's 'Mind Blown', alongside the more throwback metallic dinks of Lucas's 'Light & High Beauty' original. Sensational stuff from all involved.

Review: On the latest instalment of ANGLS, Dimi Angelis proves that 13 is only unlucky for some. The veteran producer delivers four club-primed techno cuts - with the incessant bells and pounding drums of "Shadowland" setting an intense tone. "Intergalactic" continues in this vein, with Angelis focused on a driving rhythm and intense, cacophonous percussion. "Crionics" resounds to a muddy bass and a relentless stab that cuts through the heads-down rhythm like a jagged laser. Last but by no means least is "Ice Warrior". Centred on a raw, grungy rhythm and cheese-wire percussion, like the rest of the release, it's a heads-down, late night affair.

Avision - "Hold No Groove" - (5:56) 128 BPM
Deetron - "Pulse" - (6:36) 140 BPM
Review: Next up on Laurent Garnier's label is a split release that explores the deeper end of house and techno. DJ Deep is up first with "What's Going On". Powered by raw, tribal beats and featuring lush pads, it sounds like the veteran house head's tribute to Joe Clausell's organic sound. Avision's "Hold No Groove" is also inspired by house music, but on this occasion, Chicago rather than New York is referenced. Combining a snaking bass with busy, layered percussion, the result is mesmerising. Deetron ups the tempo but maintains a deep sound on "Pulse", its musical but insistent rhythm recalls classic Kenny Larkin.

Review: DJ Dextro follows a long line of Portuguese talent such as The Advent and A.Paul - and he shares their ability to make distinctive club-primed techno. This release on KD Raw gives full vent to his capabilities. The title track resounds to cold bleeps, skipping percussion and bursts of white noise, with Dextro bringing these elements together over a pulsating groove. "Bombeiro Sapador" is more familiar sounding. Led by shimmering chords and dubby kicks, it could be a contemporary update on Force Inc 90s techno . "Take Me Up" sees him veer in a different direction, with female vocals set to a looped house groove.

Here the Bristol-based producer showcases a versatile exploration of tempos and influences on If The Glove Fits, this time drawing from gqom, techno, and Afrobeats. Not to come across as a wild experiment, there's no denying that the club is definitive focus here with heavy staccato basslines, banging percussion and seismic bass-weight all round. Across four tracks Polo expertly balances tension and release, showcasing a consistent physical presence when delivering his latest production ethic to a sound system that fits.

Expel - (5:33) 142 BPM
Formula - (5:22) 144 BPM
Review: Veteran producer Dolby D teams up with emerging artist MarAxe for a release that is anything but formulaic. "Subdue" is set to a high pace -one that the rest of the EP emulates. However, despite the fast tempo, its rhythm is lithe, with subtle filtered builds combined with dense percussion. "Expel" is also powered by a relentless groove and percussive elements. On this occasion, the percussion alternates between delicate shards and powerful snare rolls that provide the back drop for a ponderous vocal sample. The title track maintains this fast tempo, but the sound takes a darker turn. Sheet metal riffs are fused with rattling hi hats , making for a furious finale.

Review: For its latest instalment, Fuse enlists the services of Dold. Known for pure techno releases on Blue Hour and his own Arsenik imprint, Rider drops an excellent, diverse four-tracker. "Smile" is a lean, pulsating groove, peppered with acid squelches. Meanwhile on "Old News", Dold puts the focus on robust, steely drums - which act as the basis for a stripped back, rolling groove. The other pieces reveal a more musical side to Dold's sound and the insistent groove of "Rich String" resounds to a moody organ riff. Best of all though is the title track, a richly melodic Detroit groove that recalls Aril Brikha's futuristic leanings.

Cappello's signature Subculture sound resonates throughout the album as he navigates through diverse sonic landscapes, captivating listeners with a potent blend of dreamy pads, soulful melodies, and driving beats. Tracks like "Midnight with T" and "Acid Rain" showcase his ability to craft moody yet spacious compositions, while "3am Jamaica Street" and "Moon Jump" build intense atmospheres reminiscent of classic Underground Resistance. Review: Dukwa follows 2022's Matter Of Time on Peggy Gou's Gudu label with this fine, musical release. "Take Me Away" resounds to metallic snares and a percussive rhythm. Against this backdrop, he weaves in blurry, woozy synths, making for a killer Detroit techno track. On "The Hedge", Dukwa follows a different path. Set to a jacking groove, he factors in jazzy keys and raw electronic riffs that build and drop through the arrangement. "Digital Forest" marks another shift. Like the other tracks, the rhythm is raw, but Dukwa's use of electronic bass and breezy melodies is sure to set it apart.

Review: Dustin Zahn returns to Blueprint to deliver a four-tracker that resounds to understated force. "Rotator" is an atmospheric, rolling track. Led by dense, tribal drums and featuring mysterious synth lines, it's a subtle but impactful track. "Conduit of Chaos" is based on a similar premise - although on this occasion, the rhythm is more stripped back and is powered by impactful claps. The pulsating, clanging bass at the heart of "Catharsis" lends it the requisite punch for its flowing groove. The title track is the most up-tempo track on the release - and it sees Zahn deliver a gradually building, vocal-sampling percussive sucker punch.

Review: Following releases on Be As One and Planet Rhythm, Dynamic Forces land on Hardgroove with a suitably club-friendly EP. "Glitter Skin" is uncharacteristic for a label that is synonymous with looped techno, and instead is focused on deep, ethereal sounds. The title track is more in keeping with the Hardgroove style as a repetitive stab is set to a lean groove. "Tempo" is tougher again, with the pair dropping robust drums, while a different approach prevails on "Raindance". Led by a loose groove and chilling synths, these elements make for a potent combination. "Invert" deploys darker musical elements, with ominous chords set to a rolling rhythm.

Review: Dynamic Forces follows last year's Hardride release on Planet Rhythm with this firing four-tracker. "First Day of Life" is a Purposemaker-style dense groove, replete with insistent stabs and vocal snatches. Clocking in at the 140bpm mark, it gets the release off to a frenetic - but funky - start. "New Set Up" resounds to a similar tempo, but on this occasion, atmospheric synths lend the arrangement a deeper edge. In contrast, "Plague" is all about its bruising drums, utilitarian claps and a pounding rhythm. Returning to Millsian influences again, Dynamic Forces drops "Tango". This time, the focus is on a white-knuckle ride through grainy, relentless minimalism.

Lust - (5:13) 144 BPM
Review: Following last year's collaboration with Ash Code, Ellen Allien returns to her own label with a high-octane two tracker. "Rave Luv" does what its title suggests. Over a galloping groove, Allien weaves in jittery synths and screeching Hoover builds. The end result is a brilliant blend of disconcerting electronics and dance floor dynamism. "Lust" is also designed for club use, but it applies a different approach. Slamming kicks are merged with raw electronics, while dreamy synths play out in the background. It has echoes of the short-lived, early 90s techno-trance sound pioneered by Harthouse - but realised through the Bpitch boss' unique lens.

Review: Eversines makes a triumphant return to Kalahari Oyster Cult with his latest offering, the "Gaze" EP. Departing from his previous introspective style, the EP opens with the atmospheric and intense "Gaze," setting the tone with its moody ambiance and pulsating acid undertones that evoke a sense of futuristic propulsion. Diving deeper into the EP, listeners encounter a diverse array of sonic landscapes. "Fast Fall" pays homage to Detroit's techno roots, harkening back to Eversines' earlier sound. Closing the EP is the retro-infused "Wavedash," a track that seamlessly blends nostalgic elements with a forward-thinking, hi-tech machine funk groove, possibly emerging as the EP's standout moment.

Buzzer - (5:18) 147 BPM Hot
Review: Exos has been releasing music since the late 90s, including dubbier sounds on the seminal Thule label. Cyber City offers a more frenetic take on techno compared to those early, frazzled excursions. Clocking in at well over 140bpm, "Open Your Mind" is a rave-infused banger that features ponderous vocal samples. "We Are In Control" has a stronger connection to his older work, as dramatic chords swoop in - but in keeping with his current focus, the rhythm barrels along frenetically. "Buzzer" is the most visceral track on offer here. Led by a noisy bass and pounding kicks, it is sure to cause dance floor mayhem.

Review: Next up on Sleep D's label is Fader Cap with a tripped-out four track EP. Following a path that traverses techno and progressive house while making nods to trance and dub influences, Blue Pool is a distinctive release. "Toxic Lip" resounds to bugged out acid and a pulsating bass, while "1080 Beach" is all about the frazzled, hypnotic textures that Fader Cap fuses with a rolling groove. "Day Dream" is just as tripped out, with half-heard vocal samples unravelling over spiralling acid lines. "Blue Pool" is another wonderfully frazzled track - led by reverberating, synth hook and lithe break beats, it's the ideal soundtrack to accompany warmer, longer days.

Miracles - (5:31) 134 BPM
Review: On this aptly named release for Odd Even, Flug brings the listener on a real journey. It starts in dramatic mode with the title track, where layers of Plastikman-style acid are integrated with waves of steely percussion. "Mental Trip" is deeper, but it's just as intense. Flug conjures up layer upon layer of moody chords, adds a ponderous vocal sample and lets the combination unfold over staccato drums. The result is nothing short of mesmerising. "101" is based on a stripped back, percussive rhythm - which acts as the backdrop for repetitive, tranced out stabs. "Miracles" rounds off the release to the sound of concrete weight kicks and rasping hi hats.

Basement Tool - (5:17) 145 BPM
Review: Following his recent outing on Planet Rhythm, Gustavo Bassani delivers this killer four-tracker for Truncate. "Liquid Cave" is a fast-paced, distinctive affair. Resounding to a combination of funk bass and stripped back drums, it is sure to stand out from the slew of high-tempo tracks. "Basement Tool" is a chord-heavy track, with a looped vocal adding an extra layer of drama. On "Synthesize", a steely, angular rhythm prevails- and its grainy undercurrent is offset somewhat by a pitched down vocal sample. Remaining in a similar field is "Hip Stretch". Bassani delivers a niggling, bubbling groove that acts as the basis for raw, analogue builds and drops.

Review: The hugely talented John Heckle dons his Head Front Panel alias to deliver this debut on Dark Machine Funk. In what is a slight departure from the project's usual approach, otherworldly synths are fused with dense break beats on "Panama". It's only a temporary divergence: Jeff Mills' influence bubbles to the surface on "Surdo", a dense Purposemaker-style groove - replete with dissected vocal samples. Meanwhile the title track sees Heckle drop a stripped back workout that centres on steely drums and metallic percussion. "Them" also pays homage to Detroit's darker side. Powered by dense kicks and snapping percussion, Heckle weaves in layers of mysterious synths, adding to its allure.

Snarerollswtf Featuring Kick Drum - (4:38) 138 BPM
Review: Snarerollswtf is a fitting title for what is one of this year's most unconventional techno releases. On the title track, veteran Swedish producer Hertz drops a series of snare patterns. Each one more incendiary than the last, they are designed to be used in the mix - and are sure to cause the kind of reaction that the release's name suggests. On the alternate version, "Snarerollswtf Featuring Kick Drum", Hertz shows exactly how dynamic his percussive creations can sound. Pounding kicks of varying intensity levels underpin waves of rolling percussion - making snare-led techno classics like Plastikman's "Spastik" sound civilised by comparison.

Review: Following last year's Half Full release, Hurdslenk returns to Hardgroove. Outside gets off to an exciting start thanks to "Futures". Centred on a throbbing bass and steely hi hats, this pulsating peak-time track is sure to stand out from the crowd. "Jugular" is more visceral. With a dense rhythm at is core, it sees Hurdslenk weave in layers of rasping percussion and intense filters. "Collect" marks a departure for the Hardgroove sound. Its stripped back, jacking sound sounds like Hurdslenk's take on early 00s minimal house. It's only a brief divergence though. "False Pretence" is led by a frenetic rolling groove, while the use of dramatic chords and a stuttering vocal sample will set it apart from most hard-edged techno.

Review: It's been a while since we last heard from Hyperdub and Don't Be Afraid regular Ikonika. In fact, 'Details' marks her first solo material for almost three years, and her first release of any kind since last year's collaborative mini album with 45Diboss, 'Supernova'. 'Details' is a typically colourful and synth-heavy affair, with her own vocals and glistening electro-pop melodies riding bouncy beats (think Afrobeats-meets-pitched-down Afro-house and you're close) and a deliciously warped, sub-heavy bassline. The remix package is naturally strong, boasting fine revisions from BokBok (energetic and upbeat, with nods to peak-time bass music and broken beat), Girl Unit (thrusting, wobble bass-propelled techno) and Aryu Jassica (percussively propulsive tribal house revivalism).

Review: Inigo Vontier returns to Multi Culti with a crafty four-track EP. "Asi Si" is a rolling tribal house groove, populated by high-pitched tones and repetitive vocal samples. Dub influences loom large on the title track, where spaced out tones are fused with warbling 303s and subtle percussive builds. Vontier takes inspiration from Chicago on "Tumbada", with doubled-up drums and steely percussion providing the basis for gritty acid lines and a clanging bass. "Ultra Jungle" marks another shift in sound. On this occasion, Vontier deploys robust kicks and a throbbing, pulsating bass, making for a delightfully tripped out dub disco track.

Titles - (4:24) 138 BPM Hot
Review: The latest release on Charlotte de Witte's label has a deep personal meaning. The Work of Inox Traxx, it is reflective of the producer's 'inner state' and was written in response to personal challenges. But to paraphrase the evergreen house classic, to address such issues, 'music is always the answer'. The title track is a case in point. Over lead-weight kicks, Inox Traxx delivers a beautifully mournful vocal - making for a deeply personalised but dance floor-primed track. "Close" is an intense affair. Centred on a throbbing bass and a swung rhythm, it features fragile vocals. "Titles" is more esoteric - on this occasion there are no vocals. Instead, Inox Traxx drops a pulsating, tranced out track that builds and ebbs continuously.

Review: Hot on the heels of releases for Soma and Sleaze, James Bong returns to his own label. "Hood Plus" is based on a swinging groove and resounds to subtle melodic tones. While it doesn't deviate from this pattern throughout, its sound is still captivating. "No Time" and "Untruthful" both see Bong explore more intense territories. The former is a hard techno track. Led by dense, rough kicks, this backdrop provides the basis for Bong to weave in noisy textures. "Untruthful" features similar soundscapes - this time wave upon wave of electronic sounds play out over an abstract backing. "FFF" could be Bong's homage to Mills's soundtracks, with the jittery keys creating an atmospheric sonic whirlpool.

Review: The eighth instalment of Less Is More sees Jonas Kopp continue to tease out the minimal aesthetic. Spread across 10 untitled tracks, it starts with the reduced rhythm of "LIM8_B1" - Kopp's own take on minimal house. In contrast, "B2" is an ominous, cavernous track, powered by a dense cacophony of abstract sound. "B3" and "B4" both gravitate towards the dance floor, led by a clanging bass and steely percussion respectively. In keeping with the series' overall approach however, each piece features an abstract dimension. This is the case on the"B8", "B9" and "B10" salvo - where Kopp delivers reduced club rhythms soaked in atmospheric textures.

With prior contributions to other major indies like Cocoon and Kompakt, Kaspar's signature confidently navigates a big room, dubby trance, and crunchy electro sound with straight up house inspirations. Review: Straddling the grey zone where techno, garage and bass all intermingle is KEEFE's All Night. The title track is a good example of how this approach plays out. Over an intense, rolling techno groove, KEEFE weaves in repetitive vocal samples and whooshing filters. "Blue Calm" follows a similar trajectory - on this occasion, a wailing diva brings her uplifting tones to an intense, raw groove. "Drop Dat" veers more towards garage, thanks to the use of an ominous bass and skipping drums. This influence is also audible on "I Was There", but this time the sound is more soulful, as a stepping groove and a bruising low end underpin soulful vocals.

Review: Next up on Binary Cells is Klint with this hard-hitting release. The pounding, industrial rhythm of "Atlas" gets Son Heros off to an intense start. There is no let-up on "Mental 89", where Klint drops a dense, banging track. While the title track integrates trancey riffs with robust tribal drums, it is still primed for the dance floor. On "Supervision", Klint continues this approach as a surging bass ripples its way through a looped groove. There are some exceptions to the prevailing intensity: "Requiem RK" is a heads-down ebm workout, while "Cinq Sections" is a dub-influenced track, but one that still packs quite a punch.

Review: L.F.T. makes a bold statement with his latest six-track release on Pinkman, following a string of acclaimed releases on various labels like Mannequin and Return To Disorder. With Electric Vampire, L.F.T. crafts a sonic journey aimed squarely at the dancefloor, blending tough drums and raw basslines with spectral vocals and percussive quirks. The result is a fusion of Dutch electro heritage and horror-movie soundtracks, creating a synthetic super-highway where bright lights meet solid concrete underfoot. With heavy acid electro defining the sound of other numbers like "Cattle Beast", it's straight up Vampire techno in "Asche (Vox by Nils Fock)" with reflections of a Simian Mobile Disco sound in "Demonic Toys". Gritty but classy productions all round.

Review: The second instalment of Len Faki's remixes see the storied techno producer tap his favourite artists to re-interpret his work. Luke Slater's Deep Heat take on "Shri Yantra" is redolent of his classic Planetary Assault Systems work, with firing percussion and dramatic break downs to the fore. In contrast, Amotik's version of "Make Me Scream" follows a heads-down approach, with haunting vocals wrapped into a bleep-heavy, rolling groove. In contrast, ANNA's remix of "Hymn" is a tranced out, big room track. At the other end of the spectrum, Modeselektor's interpretation of "Don't Be Stupid Day" is a moody electro stepper, led by waves of menacing low end.

Review: 2024 was always going to be a year of surprises, and the latest release on Rekids is testament to that. Man Power hooks up with the Paris-based Louisahhh for an unexpected anthem in waiting. The title track is an expansive deep house track. At its heart is a pulsating bass combined with Louisahhh's freeform narrative about the state of the world. As befits such a modern classic, Rekids has commissioned Deetron to deliver three remixes. The dub version is a joyous UR-style deep techno version, while the main version follows a similar trajectory, powered by thunder claps and outer space tones. Keeping the audience guessing, Deetron also delivers a 'Drum & Bass' version that focuses on high-paced techno, while the 'Bleep Tool' ends the release to the sound of glistening tonal bliss.

Both "VV2" and "Listen" are driving, linear tracks powered by insistent claps and rolling snares. Meanwhile "Sound System" sees Broom deliver a more abrasive take on this style, with a combination of gated synths and tough kicks. "Pipz" is in a similar vein, with an added layer of militaristic percussion adding to its dance floor appeal. Rounding off the release is "Tool". As its titles suggests, it's a relentless, driving techno track designed to cause maximum impact.

Review: The latest release on Reinier Zonneveld's label is a split EP, with two double acts responsible for separate tracks. Mark Reeve & KLOSET's "Rave Selektor" is true to its name - against a pounding techno rhythm, they drop an ominous, hardcore bass and even a ragga MC sample. In keeping with the Filth on Acid approach, a growling 303 gnaws away in the background. Prolific pair Dok & Martin also embrace the rave sound on "Dimensional". However, on this occasion, a booming bass and pounding kicks provide the basis for disco filters and a soulful vocal sample that is woven through the arrangement.

Review: Next up on Lewis Fautzi's label is Mesh Convergence aka Nahuel Rodriguez with a powerful dance floor EP. "Doctrine" is a high-paced but funky techno track. Led by powerful percussion and a rolling groove, it sounds like a modern update of late 90s tribal techno. On "Geroge's Code", Rodriguez goes down a minimal route. Led by swirling filters and relentless kicks, it teems with ferocity. Minimalism of a different persuasion comes into play on "Impure". Driven by an angular, robotic rhythm, it's a masterclass in repetition. "Unwritten" is less intense but just as effective - led by a murky bass and flickering sound scapes, it is sure to light up more discerning dance floors.

Review: Twenty-three years since he initially released Dispatches on his own Geophone imprint, Mike Parker's debut album gets a timely reissue on Field. Listening to his debut album is a reminder of how it remains the corner stone for much contemporary techno. Parker's use of sparse rhythms is audible throughout, as is the cavernous, at times all-encompassing sound scapes he designed. While there are references to some previous techno canons - a hint of Plastikman acid in places, or echoes of Sahko's repetition - Dispatches really is in a field of its own. That it manages to still sound not just relevant but also revelatory is testament to Parker's unique talent.

Review: Lempuyang makes it to release number 15 with a devastatingly deep new EP from Deepchord Records co-founder Mike Schommer. He kicks off with 'Scapegoat' featuring the alluring vocals of Milly James which echo out over super slow-motion dub rhythms and icy pads. The Pole rework brings more crisp hits and distant eerie drones over a more pronounced rhythm but one that remains devilishly sparse. 'Deceivers' has more hypotonic drive, a fleshy dub stepper to lock in any 'floor and then 'Believers' slows it down to a crawl once more. An essential dub EP that promises no represses.

This 13-track album combines previously unheard cuts with nine tracks previously showcased across a pair of EPs of the same name. It's a fantastic set all told, with highlights including the smacked-out electro-dub headiness of opener '40 Acres and a Terrabyte', the extra-percussive deep dub-house hypnotism of 'Bob Molly', the after-hours friendly minimalism of 'Star Storms', the Detroit-goes-dub techno pulse of 'New World/Old Future', the classic dub techno warmth of 'Dark Paradise', and the dub-wise deep house dreaminess of 'Avantgarde Dancehall'. Review: Originally released back in 2019, Semantica now gives The Beauty a timely reissue. It finds Oscar Mulero in impressive form. The album starts with the sparse "Act of Giving", a theme that continues with the title track's tribal drums and hypnotic synth loops and "Duties Strategies", a hypnotic, stepping track. "Permanent" sees Mulero up the tempo to deliver an intense, percussive workout, while both "Assigned Task" and "Delegation" head down the kind of tripped out psychedelic direction one would expect to hear from Mike Parker. Mulero's ability to craft a dance floor groove shine through - and this is no more so evident than on the lithe, steely "Determined Mission".
